I seem to recall removing this panel when I changed the tailgate harness. I don't think it was too difficult - but very time consuming, took a great deal of removing of other bits of trim to get it out, door pillar trims, tailgate rubber & loadbay trim, seatbelt anchors etc etc. Try and get a Ford TIS disk off of Ebay as it has clear step by step instructions & diagrams on removal.

Rear Wiper Arm Spring?
tedwards replied to Paul759's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Try the WD40 route, it does work. Mine skipped the top part of the rear window just under the washer nozzle, a quick spray and now I have 180 degree clear wipe. -
I had the same problem, changed relay30 over a year ago & no repeat of the problem. Its easy to change on a Mk1 & only around a tenner IIRC. Sometimes removing the relay and giving it a sharp tap against something free's it up & the engine will fire. Definitely the option to choose first. Regards, Tony

Changing Thespark Plugs
tedwards replied to Wayguns's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Is yours a Mk1 or facelift Galaxy, I can see why you are struggling to get at the relays. It looks like the panel is a**e about face with all those cable runs exposed. Hope your relay solves your problem. -

Mines a 1997 2.3 Ghia X and the relays are easily accessable once you drop the cover below the steering wheel, No 30 is the one I changed. got it from a Ford dealer as it a bit of a special. -

On mine if you can access the fuses from under the dashboard/ steering wheel area then the suspect relay is visible - as I said it has a BIG WHITE 30 stamped on it -

I had a similar problem, just would not start - turned over very fast. I changed relay No30 - no problems since & that was six months ago. Please note it is not relay 30 as shown on the fuse panel markings but it is the relay that has a great big 30 in white on the relay case. Hope this helps -

Had the same error code on mine, caused by a disc jam. the offending disc was part in the cartridge when it tried to change discs, ended up jamming the whole thing. Tried dismantling, but ended in disaster - far to many moving parts inside. Looked on Ebay but could not find the correct part numbered changer. Ended getting a reconditioned unit from Ford for

Does anyone know which fuse protects the clutch on the compressor & the whereabouts of this fuse, as my aircon is all very quiet under the bonnet & hot inside.

Can any body help, I have a 1997 Gal Ghia X where the cd changer is now dead. Tried to get a replacement on Ebay with no luck yet, but notice loads of FORD 6000 RDS CD PLAYER's and the like. Question is - can I fit this unit into my Galaxy? looks much bigger than the 2007 radio cassette fitted as standard. Thanks.

My '97 GhiaX sounds like it has a birds nest hidden somewhere in the engine copmpartment. Its a high pitched whine, seems to be coming from the area of the alternator, similar to a slipping drive belt but not so loud. The belt tension is OK, as I think this is the original belt do they wear/ become smooth and loose drive?. Could it be the alternator or the tensioning pulley? Has any body had experience of this. Thanx Tony

Advice please, I need to replace the front tyres on my 1997 Galaxy GhiaX, I have rung up numerous local tyre dealers for a price on two 215/60 x 15 95H CH90 Continental Sport Contacts - all come back with the same response - can't get hold of them, not being manufactured at present. Some have said they can get the correct size, but they are not re-inforced, said I really don't need re-inforced tyres at this size. Don't know where to go from here, has anybody used any other makes of tyres in this size?? are they re-inforced, any advice will be appreciated.

Can anybody give me some advice, I don't have a problem but I am curious as to why the nearside boot panel gets quite warm when the engine and or heating/ cooling is on. The vehicle is a 1997 Ghia X with climate control. Any suggestions??
