Hello, ive been on here a few times as the Galaxy we bought to ferry the kids around has given us a little bit of grief over the last 14 months. Just thought I'd post this topic to see if any one else has experience the same and has had the issues resolved. 1. the alarm goes off on its own, fords keep changing the module as its under the wheel arch and gets wet then shorts out. 2 replacements so far. 2. Heated window front comes on, on its own. 3. Front windows wont close, stops at about 5mm from closed. 4. Climate control crashes and doesnt work (7" touch screen system) 5. Music mutes on own accord and then wont come back on for a day or two. 6. Voice command freezes and locks up for 1-2 days. 7. Climate turns completely off and you need to stop the engine, lock and unlock to get the system to come on again. 8. EGR valve keeps clogging causing low power and appr 22mpg 9. Plastic panels are black instead of metallic, fords have now accepted they are wrong and are going to repsray. 10. Fords dented the car in may when servicing, going back for repair attempt number 3 next week, really bad workmanship. 11. Windscreen wipers come on, on their own even when parked up and locked! sometimes I drive home with them on and its not raining but cant turn them off! 12. roof lockers rattle like made and the interior lights are loose and rattle, apparently fords now have an anti rattle kit for this! we will see. Fords have told me items 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,11 are a software issue and for 14 months now i am waitng for these to be fixed, apparently Blaupunkt are writing an updated disk to solve the issues which are bespoke to each car and still they cannot tell me when its coming. Any comments???? Jules

Unfortunately you must have it on, you can go into the settings and adjust the audio settings to mute the radio, what i do is press the aux button and not turn the ipod on, then its quiet in the car and just the sat nav and phone works. I hope your system works well, mines been a pain for 14 months now and fords are still trying to fix it. when it works its great and when it doesnt i get loads of funny things happen!

Ive got the panoramic roof, and yes in the summer the blinds are always pulled accross when its really sunny. but it does make the interior of the car a lot brighter and airey. Im really pleased with option. After a little frustration with fords re my aircon (see other posts) everything works well now and perfect. The rattle and aqueeks is from the overhead lockers and they drive you nuts, considering screwing mine shut!! Car is currently in fords having her 1st service and a few warranty issues and some paint, one of there tech's clipped the wing last time it was in.

Car went back into Fords after a year with this problem and after a lot of shouting it now works!!! apparently the programming was not correct. Both the front and rear units work on auto as a triple zone as the book states, lovely and cool when you need it.

Main issue for me is the heating anc cooling, not good enough for the size of the car! otherwise they drive beautifully and we tow a huge caravan with ours.

Really cannot understand why some of you are so aggressive, the fact that I aquired for privilidge is not something I am going to shout about in the street, If i paid less for my car than the person next to me that would piss him / her off and this scheme for obvious reasons is not in the general public domain. The fact still remains that Fords would sell my car at anywhere between what I paid to the full list to Joe Public. The prinicpal of privilidge is a benefit to staff and family to allow them to enjoy new cars on a regular basis and offset depreciation! The option scheme is not a tie in at all, at nay given time you can pay off any remaining money owing, but you have the option of a guaranteed hand buy back figure and time you choose. The dealer led me to believe that I would lose minimal money over the discount and put into their diary to call me back this March as they were fully aware that i like to change the cars, and this privilidge scheme would enable me to change every year at minimal costs. This obviously was a blatent lie, hence why i mentioned the dealer in question. When I bought the car another dealer SMC had the same model with 5k on the clock for 28k on their forecourt, which colaberated my dealers story. I however do appreciate at the moment that car prices have massively fallen, but cannot see how the car manufacturers in this cliamte can expect people to pay top dollar for a car and then pay bottom dollar to change. There has to be some incentive to the buyer, not just taking it from our taxes via the government. Secondly it is clearly apparent that what ever extras you buy on a ford, you will never recover any of them back. At the time i bought this one I could of had an off the shelf Ghia without any trimming for just under 17k with my discount, im sure if i'd bought that one I would have still been offered 12k as a px today. Anyway, doesnt really matter Ive just bought a maserati!, which I understand will loose money but at least its fun to drive. -

I got these cars through the family privilidge system , so finance interest wasnt an issue. And only went on the option scheme to take advantage of the % deal as I put down 35% of the car as a deposit. Otherwise I would have bought outright. Saving grace really as this car will now be run for 3 years and only lose a further 1k. -

Please understand, I am in now way bragging about my spend. I like to replace my cars every year, normal just losing a little In depreciation, which I accept. I am however fortunate to enjoy new cars, but not always..Ive worked my way up in life and have had my fair share of -

I have a 2.2tdci manufactured July last year and it has been back and forth to the local dealer 9 times, my fan speed remains at a constant speed of 3 no matter what. First thing in the morning its freezing and even when the car engine has warmed up, still the fans dont go into boost mode to bring the car upto temperature. If i turn the cliamate off and go to manual, speed the fans up to 7 and temp up to about 27 i can get nice and warm, but on auto its useless!!!, I can manually force hot air out of the vents after a 2-3 minutes of the car sttarting, if i leave it to climate nothing happens even at speed 3 for about 12-15 minutes and 6 miles down the road. Has anyone else got this problem PS. My car has the DVD sat nav unit with built in climate control and seperate rear system. Also ive done 6600 miles now and my front tyres are nearing the wear indicators!!! so would guess 8000 miles per set! is this right??

My service light came on just over 6000 miles, spoke to fords and they acknowledge a software fault and uploaded the new program. just a string of faults with my car!!!! grrrrr

Ive just taken delivery of my galaxy and mine is bolted down as well, which i am not happy with as the load cover snags it!. I have complained to fords and needed to push a little. Going back in tomorrow as a misbuild! the manual clearly shows it as a removable part and the side panels have the slots for stowage. I will let you know what happens. Jules

Its def a 4 cylinder lump, still amazed that its so quiet. My friends asked me tonight whether it was diesel or petrol!!
-
No there are no signs of jerking around low revs, the software upgrade must be ok. The engine is very very quite, almost impossible to tell if its petrol or diesel!
-
Hello, I took delivery of .my galaxy yesterday with the all new 2.2 tdci engine. All i can say it wat a fab engine! loads of grunt and pulls like a train. If anyone wants to know about this just buzz me.

Dealer called today to say car is built and hopefully will be gate released tomorrow, cant wait now. When i ordered my galaxy i ordered for my wife a fiesta zetec blue 1.4tdci, which we took delivery of last week, and we were amazed by it, 71mpg as a combined run to bath and back. Looking forward to having a economical galaxy compared to my range rover that had a thirst!. My car 2.2tdci panther black metallic, nappoli leather, sports pack, dvd sat nav, ghia, x pack, activity pack, convers+ and a few more toys, given fords a right headache on how to build!! Going to be fitting a towbar almost straight away and then off with our caravan down to france! Jules

Im due to collect my galaxy 2.2 july 12th from fords @ salisbury. need to ask about the uograde software! do you know any more about this? so i can ask all the right questions when i speak to the dealer again. How do you find the engine performs? what i mean is resonsive and nippy? thanks jules

I have assured it will be here before the end of July, as i placed my order mid april initially for a 2.0tdci 140 auto, but as the delay is massive for an auto they are offering me the 2.2 at a cracking deal. No im not trading anything in, im currently driving a new shape range rover TD6 and need an extra seat so hence the galaxy.
