  1. Hi Guys, I craked the rear brake light on my MK2 Galaxy and managed to get a replacement off ebay. Have tried to change it today but dont know where to start. The bottom of the light unit is hidden by some colour coded trim that is plastic. I have tried to pull it out but dont want to break it. Does anyone know how to unclip it as behind it there should be 2 screws that hold the unit on i guess. Thanks in advance Amjad
  2. Nice one, will try it out Cheers
  3. Hi guys, Finally got around to finding out which parking sensors I need to replace on my galaxy (front drivers side middle and rear passenger side corner). I managed to pull out the rear one but couldnt get the loom off which I guess I just need to perservere with but how do i get the front one out? Does the trim on which it is mounted come out? or do I need to take the front grill out? I searched the topic before and saw a pic posted of the sensor away from what looks like the holding bracked. Is this removed by just brute force or is there a clasp of some kind? Any advice or pics especially would be great. I have been quoted 60quid a sensor by ford, is that reasonable? Thanks in advance
  4. Hello Doug, Mine too has a P button on the dash but that does not really do anything. I was thinking maybe there is a way of actually disarming the parking sensors when some one attaches a tow bar as otherwise I guess the sensors would be going mental whilst towing something.
  5. Hi Guys I bought a 2001 Galaxy ghia this week and noticed that the parking sensors were not working on it, I recieved my hand book today ( had to buy it on EBAY) in which it states 'on vehicles without a detechable towball arm the system has to be switched off manually'. All i get when reverse is selected is a constant bleep for about 3 secs then the light flashes. I know by reading previous posts that this may be due to a sensor failing but I was thinkning maybe someone has switched the system off manualy as the vehicle has a tow bar fitted to it. Does anyone know how to switch it back on? Any advice will be appreciated
  6. Thanks again for the info guys, I have the same tyre size as you Stevie, just another question do I need to replace tyres with Reinforced ones or not and how do i check to see if the current ones are reinforced. thanks
  7. Thanks for the info guys Amjad
  8. Hi Guys, I bought my Galaxy (2001 Ghia TDI) yesterday but unfortunately it did not come with an owners handbook. I have managed to buy one on ebay as I was told by ford that they could not sell me one as the Old galaxy is now obsolete?????? Can some one please tell me how mush air I should be putting into the tyres on my 16 inch alloys. This is my first MPV, as untill now I have always driven a saloon but as we all know there comes a time in your life where you have to start realising you have one too many kids for a saloon car........... Thanks in advance
  9. I too have the same problem, when reverse is selected he light on the dash goes mental with a beeping for a bout 2 seconds. I will check the clicking tomorrow but could some one thell me when the front sensors come into play. Is it that they come on whenyou are driving forward very slowly or do you have to press the button to engage the front sensors. I have nly had the car since yesterday and one of the reasons I bought it was due to parking sensors. Had reversing sensors on my old BMW and fell in love with them ( call me a lazy driver) Thanks in advance
  10. Hello Guys, Im a bit of a newbie Im afraid, I only got my Galaxy yesterday (2001 TDI Ghia) and have since noticed that although the front passenger window will open from the controls on the drivers door, it will not open from the passenger door's window switch. Could this also be the work of broken wires? Any help would be greatly appreciated
