  1. After swveral months, and fo no apparent reason, the sensors have started working again. But only after the speedo, tacho, temp and fuel guages (that's all the 'conventional' dials on the dash; the digital display of ambient temperature is OK) all failed together...what could be happening? I've read that the speedo comes off the gearbox, but I wouldn't have thought the fuel and temperature does.
  2. The parking sensors on my 'facelift' 2001 2.3 have stopped working. Instead, they just scream. I think there's something up with the electrics, because one day I got in the car to find the radio needed the PIN put in, and the sensors started working again. (I have had a long-term intermittant problem which the garage couldn't solve, where the engine won't turn over when I want to start it. It only happens about once every few months) The sensors have since failed again though...
  3. How quickly is 'quite quickly'? Within a minute? An hour? I was hoping to open it, find out what batteries I need, get them, and then fit them; presumably I'll need to know what the batteries are in advance.
  4. My key fob has stopped locking the car (although it still unlocks it) so I was considering changing the batteries, but I've got no idea what sorts of problems I might encounter. What's the procedure? It's a 'facelift' 2001 2300 Petrol auto.
  5. When I put the brakes on hard in the icy cold yesterday, the ABS light came on and stayed on. What might be happening here? The brakes seem to function OK.
  6. I initially had the heater set to the coldest position, and it was blowing hot for maybe a couple of minutes, before I started messing with the controls.
  7. ..I should add that it's a 2001 2.3 vtec.
  8. I thought I'd run my air con, since they recommend doing it once a month. It was regassed last summer, so that part shouldn't be a problem. So I put it on with the blowers on full, and warm air came out. I experimented, by turning the heater setting up to highest, but with air con on, and the heat came out even hotter. Then, I turned the heater back down again, and finally the air started to come out cold. The act of turning the heater way up, then back down again, seemed to allow the cold air to come out. Why would this be?
  9. I'm sorry to sound stupid, but I don't see the switch! Do I have to remove anything? How far up is the switch. and what does it look like, colour and size, for instance? cheers
  10. dunno if I should start a new thread, suppose I'll do that too... but my 2001 Galaxy is getting stuck in Park; where exactly is this switch I should tey to oil? cheers!
