  1. I had a MKI Sharan for 7 years and the front bumper was rock solid despite a couple of knocks. I thought designs were supposed to get progressively better, not worse.
  2. Coincidently, my 2003 Galaxy has been in to the dealer this week with an identical problem. We've only had the car 3 months, and I'm sure that it wasn't like this beforehand. The car has only covered 5000 miles. As you might expect, the bodyshop say it's neither damaged nor faulty, 'it's just the way it is' they say. I'm also reluctant to strip it down for myself and so I will be interested in any reply.
  3. I had a Sharan for 7 years with no problems with the aircon at all. In Feb 2004, I traded it in for a nearly new galaxy. It was obvious from the outset that the heater was suspect. Indeed, heat was only produced from the front vents when on full. The dealer couldn't diagnose it without taking the dash apart. At this point I chose to exchange the vehicle under the 30-day exchange plan offered by Ford Direct. At the time of writing this, I have had no problems with the new car and I shall keep my fingers crossed.
  4. It's interesting to read about the Towsure and Ford options with their respective advangates for bumper support. I have retrieved my crash bar from the fitters and will consider over the weekend whether it can be modified to enable it to be refitted - somehow. I think I'll also drop Witter a line, as I'm sure they could have done more ........
  5. I have just had a Witter towbar fitted very satisfactorily (fixed) and have had no problems with the parking sensors at all. Indeed, even with the Witter towball bike rack backet fitted all is well. However, the bumper is no longer as firmly fixed as it used to be (since the 'crash bar' behind the bumper has been removed.
