  1. Hi all I have a Galaxy 2.3 ghia and was wondering if vag com hardware/software will work on my car, I was informed that the petrol engine fitted from manufacture is a Volkswagon engine? is this true and if so what Diagnostic device can i use? thank you. Regards.
  2. thanks tiny ive been reading through the forums and found members having more or less the same problem and using clear silicone sealant, to repair there leaks. so im going to have a good look at it first and see how big the problem really is, if its a small leak then i will go with the silicone, (interior only) if its a big job then i will take your advice and let the pro's have a look. cheeers mate regards
  3. hi all found a pool of water on the front passenger floor under carpet, coudnt find leak, so i washed the car and found beads of water coming in on the side of the windscreen, i will have to strip interior to see how bad it is. i think the late frost we had a few weeks ago is the culprit. does anyone know what type of sealant i will need? thank you.
  4. ok i took out relay 30, took off the cover and found a bad solder connection, resoldered and now ok. thanks again NickpV.
  5. Thanks NikpV
  6. Hi all im having trouble starting my galaxy, its only now and then. when ive got the car running and go for a drive, if i switch off ignition then try to start up again, it just turns the engine over, it wont fire up. i can hear a relay ticking under the dashboard on the right hand side as its turning over, then it stops ticking an starts up? anyone had this problem. ive also had another problem which ould be the cause of my 1st one, the rear screen wash stopped working couldnt find any blockage, i took off the passenger door trim, to expose the loom and found my carpet soaking wet, the tubing were it had been joined had come off, about a pint of water, i checked the circuitry under the passenger seat, there was little water but it all seemed dry, just the loom in the front was saturated, could this be the problem? i have dryed it all up but still had the fault afterwards, but again not all the time. im thinking maybe a relay. thanks ford galay 2.3 ghia 02 registration
  7. thanks for reply m8 wasnt sure which one was the ione i needed so i tightened to 230 nm. all ok upto now cheers. regards
  8. Hi all im attempting to renew my front brake discs and pads, because my galaxy failed its mot on one of them, they said one was pitted. what i would like to know is the torque for the two 19mm bolts when i refit them. galaxy 2.3 ghia 02 reg. thanks regards
  9. hi maximus the diy kits are an option. but if you say that your system has no pressure at all then you may have a major leak somewhere, who knows. and if thats the case then you would be wasting your money on a diy kit. your best taking it to someone who knows what there doing. they will put your system under vacuum to dispel any moisture and if there is a leak that is when they will find it, then once leak has been repaired they will recharge you system. hope this helps
  10. you can check here for how a relay works, may help you in testing your own. http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/relay.htm hope this may be useful to you. regards
  11. Its a usual 2.3 Zetec Gal, year 2000 early mk 2 on a W plate. Couldn't find any blown fuses but will change #34 anyway ... assuming fuse #34 is the correct one to change that is? Other than that any other ideas assuming its not the resistor pack..... ;) hi m8 i believe there is a couple of relays on the galaxy, not sure if its for your model. its relay k257 blowercut off. relay k256 front blower. cant help you on where to find them, if there there, but surely must be near the fuse box. hope this helps regards

  14. hello again ive been messing around with the car, trying to work things out and ive found that, all 4 cylinders have a nice blue spark, but if i move the spark plug away from the engine about 1/ 1.5 inches away from the cylinder head, i find that i get a strong spark from plug to engine block. i tried this on all cylinders, 1 -3 fine, cyls 4 would only spark 1/4 inch away. so im thinking my problem must be the coil pack, what i dont understand is if the coil pack fires two plugs at once then why arent both cyliders affected. cyls 4 is still the fault im getting on scanner, so i think i will buy another pack and cross my fingers it works. the car is like a kitten when idleing. thanks all
  15. Hi all tested my coil pack yesterday using a fluke 77 meter, got a reading 9.40k ohms on 2 & 3, 9.42k ohms on 1 & 4 took off the vehicle and tested it today now getting 10. 40k ohms 2 & 3 and 10.43k ohms on 1 & 4. i was not getting reading from 1 & 4 yesterday and put it down to a faulty coil, but i think it was my test lead. are these readings within the ranges they should be, as i have no way of comparing them with original values. galaxy 2.3 ghia 2002 thank you
