  1. Thanks. I hoped that it drying out may spark it back to life. There is a faint water stain (whie deposit) to the module case so if I can get inside it, cleaning visible connectors might have some effect. I will search the site again but still seek support that the failure I described is typical of module failure. I will certainly try the DIY approach before I buy a new one.
  2. Hi SGB i had exactly the same problem with a kids drink on the module. unfortunately you will have to replace the module but please note get it from VW as it is
  3. I had the rear wash pipe separation in the passenger footwell which I fixed with the advice found on this site using a jubilee clip. Spotted the soaking wet carpet in November 08 but only fixed it last week after it has dried. Problem now is my parking sensors do not work! (Front or rear) They stopped during the spring/summer of 08. Found the control unit under the seat and I can see a slight trace of water having been near the control unit but its dry now and looks like new. Is there anyway to test if this unit is the problem before I fork out for a new one? All the fuses are ok and as the unit stopped working it sounded like a throttled duck for a few weeks, flashed a lot and died. The 'P' switch on the dash no longer does anything. Dont fancy forking out a fortune unnecessarily but they are useful when the wifes trying to damage the car...Ooops I mean park.

Hi. I too cannot open the links because of the reasons discussed. However it is such a great site I have been able to: 1. Fix the rear wash supply pipe in front footwell. 2. Fix the auxilary heater glow plug. 3. Fix the jerky rear wipe. 4. Replace all the disc brakes. 5. Reset the service light. 6. Realise why the parking sensors no longer work (Wet module under seat) 7. Identify how to change the rear springs (Ordered off e-bay to be fitted next week) If all this can be achieved without full access, roll on full access.............................
