  1. Same thing happened to my wife, but the valve cap had seized on and the top of the valve stem snapped off when trying to remove the cap. The local tyre place (Autofit, Ipswich -highly recommended) replaced the valve with a standard one for no charge which kept us going whilst I sorted the Fraud replacement. The Fraud valve comes in two parts; the valve stem plus sensor (
  2. Here's the problem on the factory-fit Sony radio/single-CD in my March '08 Ghia: Set the TA volume in the menu or by pressing and holding the TA button. Listen to the radio. TA bulletin comes on at the set volume; good! Listen to Aux input. TA bulletin comes on REALLY loud! Check TA volume and it has now set itself to a high setting (possibly the same as the current listening volume). Now, this would be a litle annoying but because the Aux input signal level is low, the volume has to be turned up, so when the radio traffic buletin comes on it really is very loud. Anyone else had this problem? Bob
  3. Well, the car has had its first (12500 mile) service and I mentioned the hesitation; the Ford dealer did a software update and it now seems to be OK! The MPG seems a little better too although I need to give it a few weeks to be sure. Bob
  4. Thanks for all the comments. It soes seem to happen at about 1800rpm. It does feel just like the engine is missing; its a long time since I had a car do that! Definitely not related to turbo-lag, it really does feel like the engine cuts power briefly. So, sounds like I have a problem that a number of people have and live with (Mondeo owners too). I think I'll go down the fix-it route at the first service. I'll let you know what happens... Bob. PS Its 3500 miles from new.
  5. Definitely not normal. Its not a delay before it responds, but a slight deceleration as throttle is re-applied. Does it at about 1500 to 2500 rpm in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. e.g. cruising on the flat at 70 mph in 6th. Bob
  6. I've done 3.5K miles in the 6 weeks I've had the car and so far the only issue I have is one of slight hesitation under the following conditions: Small amount of throttle, constant speed, say 50 to 70mph. Lift off very slightly and then increase throttle again slightly, and there is a slight hesitation felt as a small amount of deceleration before it picks up again in about half a second. Will do it at lower speed in lower gears. Anyone else had this? Its so minor I'll probably leave it until the 1st service, but is is stating to irritate me as its more noticeable now I have started to drive more economically (I used to think the throttle was an on-off switch  ) Bob
  7. You have to remove the fascia trim starting down by the handbrake, carefully prising it away. The "wood" trim on the dash must also be pulled off. You can then pull off the trim around the Sony. This shoud reveal 4 screws you can undo and the head unit will pull out. No special tools required. Bob.
