Thanks but mine dosent look like that? It appears to be in two pieces one of which clips in to the other as there is a joint running round the side of the handel. It looks as though the front comes off but I cant see the locating tabs and as you said "they break" so I didnt want to force it? Mossy

Can anyone tell me how to remove the read door window winders? I need to refit them in a diffrent position. My kisd knock them with there legs and open the windows, then it rains. Result? 2.3Ltr swimming pool Any info would help. Local dealer dosent have them in stock for me to look at.

Anyone ever tried a mod to the inlet temp sensor to boost bhp? Solware sell a kit (resistor) that you use to short between the pins on the plug to the ITS. I purchased one but am hesitant to try it out?

Change the brushes on the alternator. 77K should see them fairly worn, if the spring pressure is to low they may lift/skip at speed Had same problem with a 1.9 VW engin Gal. They are a plug in module and easy to do. Alternator is at the front, may need to pop the belt off though. I found ford brushed hard to get but VW or seat will supply compatable sets. As long as the battery voltage rises a volt or so above static with the engine running thats OK. Load the electrics up and watch the lights in the dark, do they pulse on tick over? if so diode pack/regulator is suspect. Happy hunting!

Had a Mondeo that did the same thing with the drivers door. Turned out to be a micro switch not making to register the door locked, ecu then sent unlock to open all dors. I guess the Galaxy will use a similar system?

Ahhh, it has one of thoes! After a trip from Basingstoke to Plymouth and back today, I thought it may be a direct link from the fule tank to the drain! I wasn't expecting the Galaxy to be quite so thursty..... :) And i took it steady. Quite impressed with the torq though after my 2.0 Mondie!

Just changed mine. grab the clock and lift up and back, the bit of trim then pulls forward. disconnect the wiring and turn the clock round. the bulb is in a plastic holder. twist out and replace.

Can anyone tell me what the motor running noise is that comes from my new (to me 01, 2.3) after I switch the ignition off? It seams to come from the box with all the brake pipes connected, passenger side behind the battery. Mossy.
