Hi Everyone This is my first post on the forum & I'm looking for some technical help as regards the 6006E stereo. Reading various comments around the forum it seems this unit has had its fair share of problems. However the problem I'm trying to resolve is the error code 4 which I can't find any mention of anywhere on the web. I started having problems a few months ago when the CD appeared to swallow CD's but then failed to recognise them, when I tried to play them they made a nasty spinning sound & then announced that there was no disc. I still had 3 playable CD's in the unit so played them & made do, more often than not though the CD would try to play one of those CD's & then announce CD Error 4, after several attempts to play or change disc it usually worked eventually, once playing it was fine but after switching off I would have to go through the whole process again (i.e. When getting back into the car next day etc). Recently I decided to get to the bottom of it & removed all the CD's from the unit & then replaced just 1 disc in position 1 (I couldn't insert disc 2 as there was already a disc in that position, even though the stereo didn't recognise that fact!). After a few disc changes & successful plays (without the error code) in position 1 the worst happened & it swallowed the disc, made a nasty sound & then refused to eject the CD - in fact it tried to eject but failed, however it now thinks there is no CD in position 1 but when I try to insert another one (VERY carefully) its obvious that the previous CD is sill in there so I now cannot use the CD player. Can anyone suggest what my next course of action should be without costing me a fortune in the Ford dealership! Thanks Blissy2008
