thought id let you all know. the cam shaft has been replaced and its all fixed now. cost

can anyone help me please? i have a 02 plate ford galaxy 1.9tdi last night something went wrong. the engine started to make a put put puting noise when idiling and driving, it did lose power but i regained it a bit i got no more than 45mph. its done this before and ive had it checked on a vag-com computer and it found No faults. ive taken off the air box and the noise is still there so it sounds as if its coming from the pipe from the air box to the enging. Please can anyone help??????? thanks in advance andrew

hi guys took my gal to another mechanic and he said it not the cam thats gone but he doesnt know what it is. the noise is still coming from the air box and making a thumping noise from it. 4 mechanics apart from fraud and none of them have any idea of what it is. please can any one help? :)

so lets say the turbo pipe has split or blown off would the air box be banging? cheers

update ive had the car on the vag com again today and it brought up no faults. but the news is the shim is on its way out and i now have to replace the cam,rod,pistons water pump and timing belt.. from a local garage its roughly

apperently the fuel pump wires are ok any other suggestions?

hi guys your help is appreciated i have a 02 plate galaxy, on Saturday i lost power only getting 40 mph then after i reached my destination the car sounded as if the front pipe had gone or id just swapped the car for a Subaru! i limped back 2 miles to town and switched the engine off it was a bit noisy but i regained power back to 80 on the motorway.. since then it sounds noisy from the airbox like a put put put noise but i have power. it has been on a vag-com machine and no faults found please can any one help me thanks andrew

how do you change the resistor pack as i have the same problem thanks in advance

hi im after help!! ive got a 02 tdi galaxy i had to change the front anti roll bar as it snapped, took 3 hrs of hard work but i did it! i never changed the arb bushes but did change the drop link bars, since then when im driving over drains i have a sort of squeek on the front does any one have any suggestions? i am going to change the arb bushes this week weather permitting and wether ford have them in thanks in advance andrew

hi all just stumbled on site so i joined i have the same problem, i have put on new rad and thermostat on and no change ill try the water pump to see if that works any other suggestions??? p.s. i had leak on matrix
