Seem to have an intermitant problem with lights on dashboard, OK on speedo but fade in and out on rev counter/fuel gauge, any ideas??

Some thug knocked off my passenger side wing mirror, currently held together with gaffer tape. I have looked on the ebay for a replacement, does anyone know if can take the existing cover off my old wing mirror and attach to replacement. Also is it a difficult job to attach replacement wing mirror. Many thanks Blod
