Hi All, I have recently purchased a 95 N reg galaxy 2 litre petrol and want it serviced and was thinking of maybe doing it myself but looking under the bonnet there dont seem to be too much space, So i may take it to quickfit or national tyres to do, But what grade oil should be put into it if i do it myself or get a garage to do it. Also has anyone got a rough price for fords to do it as i work at the Dagenham engine plant and get a discount but wanna know what prices they charge to see if its worth takin it to them. Cheers for that mate, Im not too fussed about the sunroof as long as its closed and not leaking i wont use it, but thought i read something on here that the wires are in that rubber boot along wiv the lekky window ones. I will have a good look at the weekend and check all fuses first and then if no joy il check for broken wires and splice in new ones if any are broken. As for the service on it, I may give the guy's in the repair bay at work a shout to see if they will do it ( I work at the Engine plant in Fords in Dagenham ) Cheers mate all the best !

Hi All, I bought a mk1 galaxy at the weekend at a good price because the drivers door electric window does not work and the electric sunroof stopped workin in the open tilt position. I managed to close the sunroof by the manual closing on the motor using the supplied allen key under the panel, And also noticed that i could open the passenger side window from the drivers side switch but it wont go up by the switch, it works fine up and down from the passenger side. Having seen on here that it could possibly be down to snapped wires inside the rubber gaitor that the window is not working but is the sunroof not working due to this snapped wire as well ? Are the wires for the sunroof in this gaitor as well ? Any help on this would be much appreciated as apart from these couple of issuse the cars is not too sad and hopefully will serve us well. Ah just one other thing, Is the mk1 easy to do a home service on i.e just change plugs,oil and filters or should i swallow hard and put it in to a garage ? Cheers guy's and thanks !

Cheers for the welcome mate, Blimey there seems no end of people havin lekky window problems, If it was'nt for it being drivers window i wouldnt be too bovered but i have to have the window open even in february !

Hi everyone, Just bought a 95 2.0L galaxy and got it cheap coz the misses keeps nagging me for a seven seater, But the reason it was cheap is coz the electric sunroof has packed up wiv it open on tilt, Glad it wasnt fully open ! Is there a manual closing under the plastic shroud wiv the buttons on as i know some cars have a manual closing in the event of it packing up. Also the drivers door electric window does'nt work which by lookin on here seems to be quite a common problem. If anyone can help on these issuses it would be most appreciated !
