hi, can anyone tell me which alternator i need for the above car, the alternator failed and was replaced about 18 months ago, the damn thing screams every time i take a tight corner, a friend said i should have an alternator with a clutch pulley, i think the garage put a bog standard golf alternator on . is there a site where i can punch in my vin and retrieve the spec for my car . regards barry

hi just changed the front pads on my 2002 tdi gal, i noticed that the flexible brake lines on both the off and near side have had a small area of the outer rubber worn off, is this a common problem on the gals, does anyone know what causes it. regards barry

hi, i own a spanish 1.9 tdi galaxy built in april 2002, registration 2222 bwj, engine code is auy, there seems to be many different alternators on sale for galaxys, could anyone give me a site to go to, allowing me to identify the correct alternator for my gal. thanks in advance barry

hi, i own a 2001 1.9 lt diesel tdi galaxy trend, i recently left the vehicle for 6 weeks, on my return the battery had discharged and would not recharge, so i purchased a new battery, , the vehicle started fine, however i now have no indicators or central locking system, has anyone experienced this, does anyone know the solution. regards, barry

hi ive been waiting for sometime now for a mechanic to obtain and fit the a/c pipe that runs up from the compressor and off to the left (as you look in the engine compartment), he is now saying that there are 6 different types of pipe, is this correct information, and does any one know the part number for this item, i have a 2002 1.9 tdi with an auy engine HELP. regards barry

hi part way through an oil change on the above vehicle ( no manual etc ) , sump plug out, filter out, got under car to check oil had stopped running and noticed large black hexagon plug on base of oil filter body, is it a drain plug. does anyone out there know, should i remove it or leave well alone. regards barry

yeah, i took it back to the garage where i bought it, and they offered to fix it, long live coastal cars, javea, these boys are the dogs with chocolate on. regards barry ps they also replaced the drive belt.

hi just picked up the gal , after a 2 week holiday, car started first time, however the red battery light stayed on all the way home, has anyone experienced this , does anyone know the cure regards barry
