Thanks for all the inputs. Looks like it won't be a barrier to me buying the car. Hopefully the resolution is a cheap one. I'll let the forum know what luck I have with the dealer.

Just about to buy a 2.3 zetec that is 2years old privately. I am aware that the inner door handles are badly worn (every one) even though the rest of the car interior is good. The chap I bought this from said that this was an established manufacturers fault and would be changed under warranty. Spoke to the local Ford dealer and they 'have no experience' of this as a problem and so are unlikely to change them under warranty without a fight. Does anyone else have experience of this problem and or success in getting dealers to fix it outside a 1year term.
