  1. Hi I am sorry to hear all your troubles with your galaxy, i have had some issues with mine mainley the usuall steering problems (creaking/noisy pump)which fords now seam to have fixes for. Apart from that the cars been great, looking through reported problems on this forum i would say it is only a very small proportion of complaints against the vast numbers of vehicles around which for a new model is understandable. I hope your car behaves itself from now on and you can start to enjoy it. good luck regards mark.
  2. Hi I bought my 2007 2.0 tdci ghia x pack last march and have now put an order in for a new one expected this march. in the time i have had mine the worst i have had in fuel consumption is around 39mpg that is mainley combined driving the best i have had at 70mph motorway driving is 52mpg. if you havent bought your car yet you might want to consider mine as it will be part exchanged this march against my new one!! my car is pretty much fully loaded and is in showroom condition with just 6000miles on the clock. let me know if your interested and i will give you the full speck. regards mark.
  3. Hi everyone I am about to place an order for a new 2.0 tdci auto ghia xpack and would like any advise from anyone who currently drives or owns one. I own a manuel version that i am more than happy with but would like the auto option as i am a lazy sh-t!! are there any drawbacks apart from the 10bhp less and approx 5 mpg worse off ? have they sorted the power steering buzz yet ? any advise would be welcome. regards mark.
  4. Hi I am just about to place an order for a new 2.0 tdci auto ghia xpack simillar to yours less the electric seats and nav, I am trading in my 2007 2.0tdci ghia xpack which i have been happy with, for the automatic version hopeing that it will be equally as good if not better. I know that it will be 10bhp less and on average 5mpg worse off but it probably wont have the turbo lag on take off that the manuel seems to suffer with. It will be very interesting and helpfull to find out how your getting on with yours. regards mark.
  5. I would imagine that this issue will be noted and periodically checked (if requested) I dont think they will make any recalls but i do think they will filter the remedy through all the dealerships. how long this will take is anyones guess but the sooner it happens the better as stupid problems like this can wreck a cars immage and uptil now i have been very pleased with my car ,and believe me when i say i am extreamly fussy in the cars i choose to own and drive.
  6. Attention all who have been suffering with the dreaded clunk/creaking steering wheel issue. I have just been down to ford dealers( dees croydon ) who have finally resolved the problem, apparently inside the steering collum there is a bush that needs to be greased about a ten minute job and now i have a perfectly smooth functioning steering wheel once more!!! seemingly once this bush runs dry it causes the creaking, clunking noise heard and felt through the steering wheel. feels like a new car again hope it keeps up. regards mark.
  7. hi nik no i dont have ivdc/ccd so thats one less thing for you to be concerned about!! i have determined that the knocking noise felt and heard through the steering wheel is not related to having to turn the steering, pulling of slowly even in a straight line is were most of the movement is felt. once the car is rolling the noise is no longer as apperent, my guess would be to start with the steering rack! do you have the optional power steering drone on yours?they put it on mine whithout even asking for it, thankyou ford !! regards mark. 2007 2.0 tdci gia xpack 6 kmiles
  8. Hi HUW seems like the creaking noise on my 2007 galaxy 2.0tdci is very simillar to yours !! i can feel and hear creaking/knocking from steering wheel like there is play somewhere it is mainley felt when pulling off slowly and is more noticable when car is cold and loaded up possibly the extra weight might be contributeing to the problem. my car has just done 6000miles and this problem seems to get more noticable everytime i drive it, i have now been to 2 dealers and both have said they could not replicate the problem, they did tell me there were no problems like this reported !! yeh whatever. ps my car also suffers from a noisy steering pump (worse when cold) hows yours? regards mark.
  9. hi everyone just joined up so very new to this! bare with me. I have a new 2007 galaxy 2.0tdci gia xpack whith a creaking steering wheel-collum issue, you can hear and feel the creaking through the steering wheel. it seems worse when cold and you dont have to be turning the wheel pulling off slowly at junctions and roundabouts is when it is most noticable also when the car has more people in ( loaded up ) the most anoying thing about this problem is it is intermitent ,which is proving hard to get the dealers to diagnose . any comments would be very helpfull as this problem is driving me mental and if i cant sort it i might have to sell it which would be a shame as i love everything else about the car.
