  1. I would say immobiliser fault? Pure guess mind and not an educated one i'm afraid.
  2. Thank you both. Will get something sorted tomorrow - either the part or a local garage. I fancy doing it but am a bit up against it timewise. Am working till thursday then meant to be going away saturday.Always the way eh. Also i don't have ramps /access from underneath. Is this essential? For now, when i place it back on the ball it's only resting on top. Could i / do i need to give it a bit of a whack to get it to click back on more permanently? Have i been to soft with it?
  3. Am trying. Must not be using the right terminology coz it comes back blank each time. Looked in the faq. Am using my phone at the mo so might have missed something.
  4. Hi all, I jinxed myself by saying I hadn't spent out on the car for ages. My problem is the cable from the manual gear lever has popped off the top of the gearbox. I managed to check it out this afternoon and it's a dome-shaped connection, what I would call a ball joint connection. I can place it back together and get it working again but not for long. It doesn't seem to click over the ball securely like I'd expect. I guess it should have a clip and it's rusted away or something?? How can I fix it? Do I need a new cable (link or part numbers anyone please) or just a clip? What's involved? I've removed all the plastic trim in the cab and engine bay to expose the two ends. Am happy to put it in to the garage to be done if they can fit me in. Any ideas how much?
  5. Try this coil pack I bought one and fitted it last night. Works fine and sorted my misfire out which i'm glad about. Hopefully it will last a while too............... Delivery took about 3 working days.
  6. I had to do much the same thing. 7 wires IIRC. I removed the pillar cover inside - just pulls off - to get to the wires. So if you make a long piece onto the tailgate side of the broken wires, pass that through the rubber boot then make a new joint somewhere handy inside. My advice would be to stagger the joints otherwise it gets quite bulky if you're using bullet connectors or similar. :)
  7. Oh yeah, 3 clicks on the back button seems to work for me. Wonder what's going on with that? Anyone?
  8. Is it just me or is the "back" button not working for this site at the mo. Makes navigating around a bit long winded! Also there's two half icons hanging around at the top of the page..................... :)
  9. Mirez, I thought this might be of interest to you. Will you be changing the roll restrictor yourself or putting it in to the garage?
  10. Thank you, you're right. Because i was on a tight budget i was looking for a quick fix with one component but truth is eveything is original and in need of replacing. Am looking forward to getting it all done soon and running super smoothly again.
  11. Is it a diesel? I don't know loads about it but i'm guessing: Address 18 Aux heater 5 x repeated flame out = Unit underneath the back of the car with little exhaust that speeds up warming the engine to temp needs a new glowplug/clean. Address 08 = does your A/C direct the air where it should be according to the dial and at the right temp? Might not have the full range of motion. I think it can be reset?? I'm not gonna guess about brakes or engine but put the fault code numbers into the search box and a load of info will come up. Did you scan for codes, then clear the memory then take it for a drive and scan it again?
  12. :D :o
  13. Ah, but that's the point. I'm trying to identify if it's a waste of time looking for one thing. I appreciate that renewing each compenent will restore some efficiency but might not cure it on it's own but people will know what finally got it sorted for them. I'm still interested in people's replies. :D Or should we bite the bullet and renew the whole ignition system when a misfire starts?
  14. It seems misfires aren't uncommon but identifying the culprit is tricky. Even if a logical approach is taken to pin it down to just one part you end up checking all the components. This poll is just an attempt to see which part people feel finally nailed it. :D
  15. Let us know if that fixes it. Not sure if i've quite shook mine off or not just yet.
