  1. Hi, just been serviced and was exactly the same before and after. Puzzling eh?
  2. Yes, mine was hooked up to a machine which did all the above automatically and took quite a while. I got a printout afterwards, no leaks or anything wrong thank goodness. Worth having it done properly. A mate of mine also had all that done at his house for
  3. Hi, took the leads off the maf and there was a noticeable difference so I guess that's not the problem? Perhaps the others might know when everyone gets in from work, I've no idea what could affect the mpg by 10mpg like this. My mate and I even swapped cars for a journey to rule out driving style and he got the same low mpg figure I get. Thanks Marian. Let me know what mpg you get once you've fixed yor wipers? Eddie
  4. Hi, sorry, don't know anyone near you as I'm in Leics but do shop around. They can charge that price here but a mobile service and regas can be had for
  5. Hi! no loss of power at all unless I've just got used to it. Just seems a marked difference in mpg since the turbo packed up on hols. (Little did I know, I just needed to turn the engine off and back on to reset it. Had no probs since).
  6. Hi all, I've been reading very old discussions on how a faulty air mass meter can affect performance. My mate has a 1.9tdi 130 and I have a 115. We do exactly the same journey to work and used to get the same fuel figures (according to the computer). I went on hols last year and the turbo cut out. We took it to a dealer who couldn't find any fault codes but replaced a turbo actuator switch. Ever since then my fuel figures have been at least 10mpg less than my mates! My best used to be 53-55mpg, now its 43 at tops. Would a knackred air mass meter cause this does anyone know? Would really appreciate your advice if possible please?
  7. Thanks for all your help, didn't realise it was an exclusive club.Thought everyone was welcome! Shall not bother you all again.
  8. Yes I've heard that they are prone to the paint wearing off. When I bought mine they replaced all of them as part of the deal. Not sure if the MK1 is the same or as easy. :) Ed
  9. Thanks Mike! You live and learn, just been out with my torch and found the number, it was covered in crap! Cheers! Eddie.
  10. Hi all! :( Thanks for all your replies about my heated wing mirrors. Someone mentioned about an engine bay light, during the topic. Haven't got one but now I'm intrigued and would love to fit one providing the loom permits it! Where does it fit, I've a clear plastic 'window' in the middle of the the 'fairing' that houses the washer jets etc, is that where the light goes or if not, what's that for, can anyone tell me? Also, does anyone know where the switch would be fitted, is it an automatic pressure switch or a manual one? If the wiring exist in the loom, where should I be looking? What year did they start being fitted? Thanks alot! Eddie.
  11. Hi all, I've just had my Galaxy serviced (40k) and one of the things that I asked the dealer to look at was the heated wing mirrors that don't defrost. They agreed to look at them and rang me during the day to tell me that the drivers one had a fault but the passengers was fine. (niether work!). They quoted
