hi my galaxy 1.9pd 115ps code auy year 2001 requires a new engine. could anyone tell me if the engine from an 02 reg vw bora 1.9pd engine with code of atd 100 ps could be made to fit.i have the chance of one from a local breakers yard. he says it will fit but would like some advice before parting with my money. thanks for any help
hi i was working on a mk3 1.8 tdci for vibration at low revs and burning smell cause turned out to be flywheel out of balance and new clutch assembly hope this is of some help. best of luck at your dealer
hi all looking for some expert advice. got a galaxy 1.9 pd 2001 model done 211000 miles bought it at a bargin price and started to restore it to its former glory. so far replaced timming belt+tentioner belt had broken before i bought it. cyl head off and replaced all 8 valves+stem seals+new hydralic tappets all four injectors o/halled. but on cold start or after siting all day exhaust is quite smokey and the fumes would make your eyes water but as it heats up it becomes ok. could it be e.g.r or do you think eng wear any sujestions would be greatful.my money is running out fast.also disconected aux heater definatly comeing from eng exhaust
hi mikej. there is sometimes a beather hose runs from the inlet manafold to breather canister on the crank case it is on the end of the hose. hope this is some help
hi everybody could someone help i am confused. what is the correct engine oil spec for a galaxy 2001 1.9 diesel p.d engine.ford spec say 5/w40 others say 5/w30 who is right. or is it just me.
hi deek think you could be right.i have not been driving it long but mpg seems poor and no i did not have the cyl head off. thought it was just tappet noise.i take it then that 8 new valves will cure it or is it worse than that.and thanks very much.and also could tiny tell me what iirc means thanks jr. will check compressions tomorow and let you know
hi looking for help took a chance and bought a galaxy 2001 1.9 diesel with 210000 miles and a timming belt that had slipped 4 teeth. striped it down replased 8 hydralic tappets inspected all other parts on sign of any other damage rebuilt with new timming belt+tentsoner+waterpump .starts and runs ok plenty power (now hears the but) still have noise like tappets from top end of engine and on acceleration a roar like intake noise.checked oil pressure ok 5.5bar at 3000rpm hot flushed eng oil three times using 5w40 any ideas
hi willy just a couple of things to try. you can adjust the injector rocker stroke quite important after a strip down of cyl head.also blocked exaust/cat caused by cyl head gasket problem .also air intake blocked good luck.
hi willywagga sounds to me it could possibly be a timming fault ask your mech to recheck timming belt fitment hard to get on and easy to make a mistake hope this helps keep posting
thanks adrianf. on further investigation think hyd tappets have been damaged by the timming belt problem. will will strip it down at weekend and replace them and recheck intake roar will keep you posted on my progress. will also check my oil pressure first
