  1. Cheers Ron, Part of the reason I changed, is the Father in Law was getting a new Picasso and he offered me is 3 year old Desire 2.0d with 21,000 on the clock for what the dealer offered him (
  2. Hi all, Just a quick note to say thank you, to all the members that have helped me over the last 3 t 4 years either by repling to my post or the information I have read from other post. I am leaving the site as I have now sold my Gal and down graded to a Picasso. I know the driving will not be as fun, but my wallet will be better off. Thanks again RussT
  3. I've used RainX, and I find it does do the Job of repelling the rain. BUT I found when I need to use the wipers it makes then judder and also lightly smears the screen. I thought it was the way I applied it so I read the instruction again and re-applied it. Still no change. So now I only use it on the Blind Spot on my Mk1 Gal (left and right side of the window screen that the wipers do not touch) it works great there.
  4. I have just got my new policy through from Direct Line
  5. Oops 1977 Typo LOL  Any way all fixed now, took them about 20 mins to replace the switch. Thanks for info RussT
  6. For a couple of Quid I not realy bothered. But I rung Ford back and they said if I give them
  7. Thanks for the info Guys. I have just ordered one from my local Ford Dealer only
  8. HI, can any one help me out? I have a 1977 2ltr Ghia and when I came into work this morning my brake lights warning indicators were both on. I thought this very strange that both bulbs should blow together. So I got a colleague to check the lights with me to see if the working or not. And sure enough both light where no working. Then after a bit more pressure on the pedal they came on. Then after messing round for a few minutes they worked sometimes then not others. So it looks like I have an intermittent fault. The question is does anybody know where I should start looking for this fault, could it be I just have dirty contacts some ware. Thanks RussT
  9. Not sure whether GLX as heated mirrors, I have a 97 ghia which as them. But I broke one of them and it was a lot cheaper to replace with a non heated glass. So it could be possible that this as happened to yours with the previous owner
  10. Have you put CD's in the changer ?
  11. The first time I put them in the wrong way and they did not work at all. So I turned one of them round and as said the key worked for a couple of days. It is confusing the hell out of me . RussT
  12. I took Masked Marauder advise on the battries and as he says this guy is cheap and very quick on delivery. I have a further problem with mine though, when my battries went a couple of years ago I replaced them but they only lasted 2 days. So I thought bugger this as I paid top price, from Ford for them. Any way after Masked Marauder advise on cheap batteries I thought I would try again. Still only lasting 2 days, and the torch key light does not work. Does anybody know how I can fix this short circuit or do I need a new Key. Thanks RussT
  13. Re:- info from j_mchattie "He advised that it was better to buy a tank of optimax and take the car for a drive at 70 in 4th gear for half an hour. It will give the engine a high rev clean out, and help the fuel to flow as it should do (ie. when it was new with clean injectors and clean pots)" As any bodyelse tried this ? And if so, is it worth paying the extra for Optimax ? Do you get more miles to the gallon ? RussT
  14. Yep I agree with You Goofygolfer <_<
  15. Hi all, I have just had a Tow Bar Fitted to my 97 Gal, and they have removed the inner bumper moulding as it was in the way. Is it worth me trying to sell this on ebay or is it just wothless and would be better off chucking it away. Coz if I do sell my Gal, I would leave the tow bar on so I would not need to keep it. Thanks RussT
