1998 Seat Alhambra tdi With lights on just noticed reduced light level on temperature gauge side of dash disply. Presume bulb has blown. Advise requred on how to change bulb and type. Thanks in advance

Drivers side wiper linkage ball joint worn , 2mm (ish) end float. From previous posts repair possible using self taping screw. Has anyone carried out this repair ? Do you need to remove wiper linkage ? if not how do you seperate ball joint, and detail on how to carry out repair would be appreciated. Car is 1998 Alhabra.

I posted previously about my abs light always being on. I have found that the drivers side abs ring on the drive shaft is split and does not rotatate. I hope this is the problem. I have phoned a Seat garage they say you cannot buy this ring as a seperate item it is only supplied on drive shaft , is this correct or can ring be sourced from somewhere else. I have rang G & S they said they do not supply for Alhambra. Has anyone else had to replace this ring if so can you advise if it is available seperately.Also does anyone know what driver is required to undo abs wheel sensor.

Caps lock was on, no reference to shouting. As you can see its off now. Can anyone help with advice on my problem.

1998 TDI ALHAMBRA , ABS LIGHT PERMANANTLY ON FROM SWITH ON TO SWITCH OFF, STATIONARY OR RUNNING NO CHANGE ALWAYS ON. SOME THREADS HAVE MENTIONED SENSORS , COULD THE CONDITION I HAVE POSSIBLY BE A BROKEN WIRE OR DUFF SENSOR , OR WOULD THIS NOT GIVE THE ABOVE FAULT. I HAVE MY MOT COMMING UP SOON CAN I TEST FOR ANYTHING MYSELF IF SO COULD YOU DETAIL HOW , AS CAR ELECTRICS ARE NOT MY STRONG POINT. THANKS IN ADVANCE DIESELALHAMBRA :huh:

I want to check the gearbox oil level on my 1998 seat alhambra tdi fitted with a manual gearbox. Can any one advise the correct oil specification. Or tell me where to look.

Seat alhambra 1998 s reg 110 tdi , when I switch ignition on abs light comes on and stays on. I also get a ticking noise as I turn the key, which I presume is from fusebox. Could it be a failed relay or other electronic component. ABS light is then on when driving only going out at engine switch off. :lol:

Linkgreen, Is is possible to explain in detail how you tested abs wheel sensor. What pins/connections and multimeter settings, also did you test sensor in situ Thanks

ABS light is on all time from ignition start up and does not go out until ignition is switched of.

My abs light is on all the time. I have checked fluid height in master cyl , brake lights both on, disconnected battery and re-connect still on. This forum has threads that say it may be sensor. Topbloke outlined how to check sensor , but can this be expanded to the number of pins in the connector and a more detailed info on how to check sensor with a multi-meter. As i am limited on electrical checks. :ph34r:

:( MY S REG 110 TDI STARTS WITH ONE OR TWO ENGINE CRANK OVERS WHEN IT IS COLD. BUT RECENTLY AFTER A RUN WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT, WHEN YOU GO TO RESTART ENGINE , IT IS CRANKING ABOUT EIGHT TO TEN TIMES BEFORE FIRING. IT IS RUNNING OK , SO I KNOW IT IS ONLY A START UP ISSUE. COULD IT BE ANYTHING TO DO WITH GLOW PLUGS ? OR HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM , AS I FEEL IT GOING TO LET ME DOWN SOON WHEN STARTING FROM HOT.

Thanks for the advice on the plug end. My broken wire is 2.5mm. The haynes manual wiring diagram states 2.5mm wire , i can only find 2mm and 3mm at the car spares shops. What size wire did you use ? Also what type of connectors did you use to fix new wire into door loom. :(

Finally got to my window problem Removed door card and pulled back boot on cable found red green wire broken. Now need to fix - What is the best way to splice a new wire into door loom , ie what type of connector. How do you remove plug at door pillar end and how do you remove wire from plug and when new wire is fitted do you need a special connector for plug. I can only see one wire is broken , in haynes manual it says its 2.5mm diameter do you need to use only 2.5mm to repair. When i repair this wire and the window still does not work can anyone advise what other chacks may be necassary.

:( This problem of the inlet manifold clogging up seems quite common, my car has done 82k , and has already had a new maf , can you say why you removed inlet manifold was it power loss ? Can you briefly detail any dificult parts of the removal. Can you access from top of engine bay or do you need to have car jacked up. I do not need to do this as yet but the info may help if I need to in future.

My 1998 seat alhambra (almost a galaxy !) has developed the following problem with the drivers electric window. With the double switch on drivers door , the drivers window will not open or close, but i can open the passengers window with this switch, but it will not close passenger window, using drivers double switch. The passenger window switch will open and close the passengers electric window. From posts in this forum , it may be broken wires , if i remove door card can anyone advise which wire / connections i would need to test and how. Also if it is broken wires how do you remove door plug and rubber boot. :lol:
