  1. Well having JUST bought the car at 40K and virtually 5 yrs old, marketed as a FSH, I have agreed to the garage doing the new cam and tensioner for
  2. Just got an 03 plate VW sharan with 40,000 Miles on the clock. I notice the cam hasn't been changed, although it was "inspected" by the dealer as part of the 40K service they performed. Model is 1.9TDI 130PS Reading the manual, it states 60,000 km or 4 years ie about 40,000 miles, but having spoken to VW, who checked on their system and gave an engine code of AZS (or ASZ - I can't remember!), it should be 60,000 MILES, or 4 years. - Typo in the manual? I was suprised that the distance had changed - I had only ever read 40,000 on here. Any one else been told 60,000 Miles? All that said, it is passed the 4 year mark, so I will be getting it changed anyway...
  3. Lol!!! - you should see the state of my car <_<
  4. Yes there should be a light........and sit down now! The bulb is in a holder and costs
  5. I have an R reg Galaxy, and I am sure that there used to be some sort of light behind the fan controls on the centre consule, so that you could see to adjust them in the dark. Now there is not one, so I am guessing a bulb has gone (all other internal light are still working and dimmable by the dial) Am I correct in remembering the light, and if so, how is the bulb changed? Cheers, Ali
  6. I have seen several threads on converting a key operated galaxy c/locking vehicle to a remote operated one. I am looking for advice on the best kit out there, as several names have been mentioned. My Galaxy is a 1998 2.3, with the fuse box and other relays etc under the dash. There does not appear to be anything under the 2 front seats, although under the drivers seat, there is a large wire, with a feed coming off it attached by four small wires to a connector with 4 corresponding pins - BUT nothing for it to connect to. Don't know what this is / was for? So, what conversion kits will work with the galaxy, how much, and how to fit them. My drivers side lock has just packed up, resulting in a replacement lock and a different key, hence the thought of upgarding to a remote. Also, I would want two zappers - one for me and one for the wife! Appretiate the help. BTW, what a great site - a mine of usefull info!
