  1. 'No spare wheel, jack or wheelbrace - unforgivable.' - I've had 0 flat tires in 15 years of driving and unless I lived in a town where they make saftey pins and deliver them in an open backed pickup truck I'm not bothered tbh. There is a way of getting out of trouble if a flat does occur with the foam or failing that I'm with the rac or aa or whoever they are. I really don't see this as a problem B) Why can't we have reliable, old-fashioned intermitent wipers instead of the stupid autowipers? - What's wrong with the auto wipers?? I could come round and fit some 'old fasioned' ones with little bits of string you have to pull if you really want? ;) The seatbelt clip 'parks' too far down - it should be at shoulder height. - On mine there is a slider you can adjust where the seatbelt clip parks, not on yours? The air con wasn't much cop on my mk1, it's still rubbish on this one. - Hmm I think I don't have this trouble as my car is fitted with solar glass, air con on 'auto' always sits at low/half fan after the first min or two.. I think some other ppl may have problems with their air con but I've never had a complaint B) so far... The rear seats look and feel a bit cheap and flimsy - Your prob right, but at least you don't have to sit in them :) The overhead compartments rattle - all the ones in my car have bits of folded paper stuffed into the gaps. - Mine haven't started to be vocal as yet.. If they do what sort of paper is best to wedge them with? The power steering pump whistles and wheezes - And lastly, mine is totally silent, even at full lock. I think I heard that there is a software update that sorts all sorts of wines and moans out regarding the power steering (weird, how does a chip make a pump silent - I have no idea) so perhaps ask your local dealer. I suppose they may have changed some of the components that were causing some of the issues you mentioned above as mine is a 2008 model, or they have yet to materialize on mine (hope not). Farr.
  2. I have a 2008.5 model with the rear air con and I was very impressed with the volume of air pumped out from the heater/air con. I seem to get warm air after about 1-2 mins of starting from cold (a lot faster than my '07 Focus Diesel) which suprised me at first. I have had no complaints with the air con either, always seems cold enough, I do stick the re-circulation button on with the air con when I want it to get extra cool though. (not sure if this is the correct use of the button :32: ) This model has the solar glass as standard though, so may help as it does have a huge surface area of glass. Farr.
  3. I think us poor Mk3 owners should stick up for ourselves. In nearly every MK3 thread we get MK2 owners jumping in and mouthing off, derailing the thread and putting the MK3 down. Or have I been getting it all wrong, I'm off to the MK2 part of the forum to start some derailing of my own  I say if you haven't got a MK3 or no intention of getting one STFU unless you have something positive to contribute to a MK3 thread? 'Farrelley prepairs to get banned' Farr.
  4. Hi all, Just a general question about the MkIII diesel, I recently took delivery of my 2.0TDCI Ghia and have noticed that the glow plug light only stays on for a fraction of a second. You litterly turn on the ignition and as all the lights on the dials 'test' and go out the glow plug light goes out at practically the same time. I recently had an '07 Focus 1.8TDCI and the glow plug light extinguished after 3-6 seconds after turning on the ignition on a cold start (6 seconds if it was very cold). Am I just being paranoid by thinking something is wrong with it or have they just improved the system to next to no warm up time now? All round an excellent car and very impressed  Farr.
  5. Well picked it up from the Dealers today, and my first impressions are that it's great. Cruise and the 2.0 tdci are a breeze for motorway miles, I only did 180 miles (56mpg av) down the M1 but I felt fresh as a daisy when I arrived home. It's the 2008.5 spec with all the new toys as std, I also got the intergrated blinds in the 2nd and 3rd row on there aswell (that I didn't order of pay for) but im not sure if they're included in the new spec or not. So that was 9th Jan -> 8 April for my wait and I say it was worth it. Farr
  6. I ordered my 2.0 tdci Ghia on the 9th Jan, I'm picking it up next tuesday (8th April). I was told when ordering if I wanted the 2.0tdci there would be a longer wait as they are prioritising the New shape Mondeo over the Galaxy with that engine. I just hope it's worth the wait and that the Black with Black windows doesn't look too much like a heasre!! Farr.
  7. Does anyone know if they're allowed to ask for extra money if the price goes up? I paid a deposit and have the written agreement etc for all the amounts but under the old prices. Now that they've increased their prices for the 2008.5 model would they be within their rights to demand more cash from me? Cheers.. Farr
  8. Noo, don't say that! I ordered mine on the 9th Jan for our holiday at the begining of May, dealer quoted 6-14 weeks wait. I ordered under the 'old price' and they're already talking about calculating the price increase with the new spec model coming out from 3rd March - I'll be even more pi$$ed if I have to wait 5 months+ too. :o Farr
  9. HI, When does this new spec come out? I have ordered an '08 Galaxy Ghia but had to pay extra for the 17" wheels? Thanks, Farr
  10. Hi Guys, just thought I'd share a website with you lot. I did some digging about and found these ppl are quite cheap. (For a Ford main dealer!) http://www.archersofashby.co.uk/index.htm Links on the left for new cars, don't know if their second hand ones are good as I didn't look at them. I've ordered a new Gal Ghia from them and it's all been internet/email based atm but seem very professional and friendly. I hope this helps someone :) Cheers, Farr.
  11. Hi, First time poster! I only ordered mine on the 9th Jan and when I asked the dealer about the wait times you lot have had to endure he said it's 'not as bad as it was in Aug-Oct time last year'. He still quoted a delivery time of 8-14 weeks though! Ohh well, I did want it for the 1st March new plate but I suppose it's worth the wait.....is it? I shopped around and got a 2.0tdci Ghia in black with the 17" wheels for
