  1. have managed to install the cruise control retro fit but the set and resume buttons dont work on the stalk i have double check all the wiring from the ecu to the stalk connector made sure the wires were in the correct position on the ecu plug, looking at the plug the 2nd row from the back 3 wires go in the far left checked the stalk to make sure the buttons work in case there was a problem but all was fine brake, clutch and the cc on switch all work with vagcom and have enabled the ecu what do i check with it now? nigel
  2. Thanks for the reply ive got the 4 wires in the ecu 1 connector to the stalk 1 single wire to power the last 2 wires I have got to a little connector, its this connector I'm unsure of
  3. mk2 1.9tdi galaxy zetec nearly got the retro fit done the only thing thats confusing me is where does the wire with the connector go near the brake/clutch switch? ive had the clutch switch out and it wont fit on that there is a spare hole above the clutch switch that looks like a switch could go in there just had a quick look at a friends mk2 galaxy with cruise control and couldnt see the wire
  4. helicoil might be your only option then tapping drill is 8.3mm helicoil tap will be near enough the same size as an m10 tap make sure you get the right length helicoil they usually come in sizes like 1d,1.5d,2d etc.. which is 1x diameter(8mm)1.5xdiameter(12mm)...
  5. either use a longer bolt and use a nut on top of the welded nut or remove the welded nut(grind it off)and use a rivetnut
  6. On my 2003 1.9 tdi zetec do I have the switch for the cruise control on the clutch pedal? I could only find a 2 wire one on the clutch pedal and a 4 wire one on the brake pedal It looks like there is a hole above the clutch switch for a sensor If I need a switch anyone got a part number for me Thanks Nigel
  7. can this be done at all? i know the connections are different on th eback of the 2 clusters nigel
  8. if the car goes into limp home mode due to overboosting also check what boost pressure you are running putting your foot down in 4th and 5th will initially use more boost then settle back to the preset boost level on the actuator you wont find this problem in the lower gears if you get told about a turbo failing check the end float on the turbo it will wiggle side to side but shouldnt move in and out a badly worn turbo will wear the compressor housing
