Purple Peril

Hello! One of the horn switches on my Mk1 steering wheel has snapped off, along with the clips to reattach it. As it is also getting quite grubby, thought I would replace it!! I was wondering if the steering wheel from a Mk2 would fit it, as they are a lot nicer!! Surprising how much the handling has improved just by changing the alloys to 17"!! Lowering it improved the handling again, and it's a bit stiffer which improves it no end!!

Let me know what you think!! It's been lowered 50 mm, but it don't look like it at the back! Alloys are 17"TSW Reflex on 225/45R17 Think the number plate is pretty apt for the V6!!

Hello Recently I have been getting the modding bug on my '96 2.8 Ghia X, Previously tinted the windows, just added private plate (nice!!), 17" TSW alloys with lower profile tyres (made a big difference on handling) and lowered it by 50mm (Looks so much beter!). Now that it looks the part, was wondering on performance mods for it and this is where I would like some advice form you guys!! 1. Brakes Would like better stopping power!! now that I have an extra 2 inches (!!) room to play with, what discs & pads would you recommend?? Think drilled ones would look good as the new alloys show more than the old ones did, but have no idea where to start! 2. More Power! Think mine has 176bhp as standard, where as mark 2s have 204bhp (Is that right)??? Don't want to spend too much, and everybody has different ideas (turbo, nos etc.!!!). Would like to go 250+. Has anyone done this, or would you recommend not doing it. (Need more go with the number plate I have!!) If anyone would like to see some pics, let me know and I will try!! Regards The Purple Peril!

Personally I think its the diesel. Never ever have a problem with petrol in the Gal, but diesel in the van depands on the garage I use. Texaco seems to froth up more, Esso has less froth etc.etc.
