Hi all Question - What year did they introduce the common rail diesel engine into the Galaxy mk2? My 2000X is the old AUY 1.9 engine and I run it on biodiesel. But its about had it and I'm wondering how long they kept these engines in production. I would like to buy a newer Galaxy and still run it on biodiesel. Thanks if anyone can help. jules

Back in January I pulled away from the lights and it slipped out of gear. I hadnt properly locked it in gear. Since then i've not been able to properly engage reverse. I can get the car to move back by holding the gear stick in position. Theres much crunching as the gears keep slipping by each other but it does reverse. Its better when its warmed up. I put a search out on Find-a-part and the scrap merchants all said that i need to provide a gearbox number. But i cant find a gearbox number. Does anyone know where i can find a gearbox number? Can anyone give me any advice in getting this problem sorted?

My friend and i replaced the clutch and dual mass flywheel on my 2000x 1.9 tdi, AUY engine. The best garage quote I had was

Hi Folks Money is a little tight at the moment. My x Reg, 1.9 tdi needs servicing, so i have decided to do it myself. I have done petrol cars in the past but never a Diesel. Can anyone give me some advice on anything specific on the Galaxy Diesel. Do you need to replace the glow plugs? How do you reset the trip computer so that it wont keep reminding you that you need a service? All advice appreciated

We had the smoke problem. We took it to frauds who ripped us off hundreds. They fixed it but the problem came back about 6 months later. So i decided to just take the fuse out. That was about 2 years ago, no problems since.

I just took the fuse out over a year ago = no further problems
