  1. Just to update my problem, Have brought a second hand aux heater last week now, from a breaking 53/04 model with 47k on the clock, got it for a bargain I believe
  2. That is very bizarre !! Looking at it, that is what I need, the only thing that is stated as 96-00 and that would be for the lower output heater, mine is the D5W-Z i believe which is the same as the galaxy you have also. It does give me a pointer though that it may be available from VAG maybe, and also gives an indication of the likely price from them  This seller knows what they cost from the main stealers, all that said that price if I was being honest is what i was expecting to be having to pay. That does make me tempted to go down the secondhand route and take the pieces off both and hopefully make one good  Still not sure !! Gary
  3. The from where  and how much is a concern for me is there anywhere in the uk that has parts for these things? I seem to remember in all my reading of the threads that somebody had a unit repaired in the newcastle area? for
  4. I have spun the motor up when the unit was apart, it is an 8.4 volt motor and it spins when i connected directly with a dc power source, as for the wiring everything looks perfect and untouched, and yes I know that is a big statement as I cannot see if any wires are broken inside it is just a general statement of overall condition, and until I touched the unit I would say it has never been touched before. My overall feeling is the controller unit inside the end plate of the auxiliary heater may be at fault, can this be purchased separately maybe ? or can I get somewhere to service it ? Is there a separate fuse for the motor or is the only fuse for the unit itself. Vag-com talks with the unit and the only fault is the one I posted earlier repeatedly  Gary
  5. Hi, Looking for help with a problem on my auxiliary heater. I have a 2003 mk11 galaxy and the auxiliary heater does not work have connected it up to vag-com and it displays this fault :- 01414 - Combustion-Air Blower (V6) 36-00 - Open Circuit I have tested the unit with vag-com and the air blower does not spin up. I have taken the unit apart and the motor spins freely. This fault repeats for 5 times then the unit has to be reset with vag-com. I have read all the posts here on the forum and have not found anyone else with this same fault, I am scratching my head at the moment and would greatfully receive any more knowledge as to how or were to get this fault solved. Thanks Gary
  6. I have an auxilary heater problem, but not the usual glow plug problem I wish ! Is it right that I cannot just post a question on the subject asking for help with first getting my posts up ? Thanks in advance
