  1. Yes reset trip prior to two long journeys. After both trips, mostly motorway and dual carriageway driving at 55-65 mph still shows only 40 to 42.1 mpg. This is worrying me as on similar trips in my old mk 2 1.9 TDI Passat I would get better than 54 mpg, driving slightly faster.
  2. 57 2.0 TDCi Galaxy Very interested in this post. I have been having similar problems. First started when reversing off drive on cold mornings. Engine would cut out and all electrics would go dead. Then problem expended to cover engine cutting out whilst decelerating at traffic lights or roundabouts. Usually early in a journey and often while changing down from 3rd to 2nd gear. Car would always restart. Was planning to take the car into the local dealer to get it checked. Is there any documentation/notification on this Ford
  3. Just taken delivery of my new Galaxy. Very nice, but not sure it was worth the 15 week wait. I
  4. Steve The T&Cs from my dealer had a clause about price increases which referred to increases in manufactures recommended list price changes. I pointed out that the list price for Galaxys have not changed either in the July or October published list prices. This was accepted by the dealer and their price on the order must be honoured . Have you contacted the RMIF they have a Conciliation And Arbitration service if your dealer is a member. They also have model T&Cs that Ford recommended all its dealers use after the Essex Trading Standards forced Ford to remove their old T&Cs in 2001 after they proved these old ones had unfair terms (regarding price increases).
  5. Just got a letter from the dealer today saying my car build begins 7th December, with possible delivery between Christmas and New Year. They will also honour the price on the order. Strange how when you hold to your position, ask for their full T&Cs and then point out that they have no legal method of upping the price, suddenly everything falls into place. Just hope the car isn
  6. Found the following examples on the Trading Standards website for Oxfordshire County Council :- Deviation from agreed price I paid a deposit on a brand new motorbike last week. The dealer and I agreed a price of
  7. Anyone looking for the previous discussion on Ford discounts reduction/price increases should now look at the new thread under current best deals, called
  8. Someone has pointed me to dealdriver website (not the broker I used ) and they at least have come clean with the following note :-
  9. just a quick note that we all need to agree there is only 30 days in September. Sorry for starting this terrible rumour
  10. Steve My understanding is that the discount promotion ended on the 31st September. Ford has allowed a 3 month window to complete orders placed before this deadline. However, as many people in the thread have pointed out Ford have a significant delay on 2.0 TDCI engines and some of these orders build dates will slip into next year. Hence the dealer suggesting pre-registration as a work around. My position with the dealer/broker is over failure to communicate terms, and that the terms are unfair. If you go into a furniture or kitchen warehouse and order delivery of a 3 piece suite or a fitted kitchen, pay a deposit and agree a price, then the manufacture delays delivery you might expect compensation not to be faced with a price penalty. Why should the motor trade be any different. I now intend to visit my local Citizens Advice Bureau and depending on their advice the trading standards office as I never like
  11. In reply to Steve Ashby The model I have ordered is a Zetec 2.0 TDCI (140PS) manual with optional metallic paint. No additional extras. List price was
  12. Ordered a new galaxy 2.0 TDCI on 25th September via Internet broker. Received all the correct paperwork and order from the broker and dealer. Last week I contacted the dealer to find out progress. I was told that unless I was willing to register and pay for the car before 31st December they would not honour the price. I have some experience of contract law, so pointed out that the order was a formal
