  1. I bought my 2001 (or 2002 ?) 1.9TDI secondhand some five years ago. I hardly ever use the aircon as I prefer to use the ECO mode and roll down the windows. Last year, however, I had the non-functioning aircon fixed for a huge amount of money, as me and the wife planned a trip through southern Europe. This year, the aircon is not working again. The heating is working allright, but that is of very little use right now. I still love my car though, and I have found this forum very usefull. Sorry if my English is a bit odd. I figure that you know what I mean anyway.
  2. Yes, it should be illuminated. A small wooden blade, like an icecream stick or half a clothes peg, is a very usefuklle tool for picking out the hole unit.
  3. Hello Charles, Two years ago I had exact the same problem on my 2001 1.9 TDi. As I'm not much of a mechanic, I left the car at my local Ford authorized repair shop. They started changing this part, that part and so on. Finally , they claimed that the problem was solved. It turned out, it was not. After a short test drive, the mechanic changed a sensor connected to the throttle pedal, and ...tadaaa... it worked. So, after trying (blindly, in my opinion) parts worth SEK 3000 (approx.
