  1. Thanks for all the replies. I got it into my head that the bottom pipe should at least be warm, so i came to the conclusion that it was airlocked. "Talk about looking for problems" :)
  2. So you don't think I have a fault/ airlock. I thought it should have at least been warm.
  3. Hi all, My car, 2003 MKii 1.9tdi I changed my thermostat the other day as my heater was not working to well, reconnected eveything and the heater worked as it should. Then i decided to flush the system by removing the rubber hose just after the thermostat (about 4" from the block) , this pipe leads to the bottom of the rad. I put the garden hose into the expantion tank and flushed water through, reconnected and refilled system, did this twice, then filled with antifreeze / water mix. brought car to normal temp (90 dreegres) and the internal heater is working fine. The problem is the pipe form the thermostat to the bottom of the rad is cold and so is the rad. I'm guessing its airlocked, but it is meant to be self bleeding. I have done about a 100 miles in the car and everything seems fine, but the lower pipe never gets warm. Max ambent tempture is 10 degrees at the moment. any advice apperciated.
  4. I have searched the net for an answer to this, but to no avail. Is the stereo that is fitted to the 03 MKII Galaxy a proper Double DIN size. Bascally i want to remove the factory fitted stereo and replace it with an aftermarket Double DIN headunit. Ideally without having to shave bits off the dash.
  5. Just another thought on this one. It could be the pre tenisnor alongside the alternator .They normally only noisy At Idle. but IF IT IS BADLY WORN it may be the problem
  6. I just gotta a thought Why not suspend a cini projector from the roof behind the last row of seats. You could then put one of those crappy dashboard protectors(like they use in spain) up against the winscreen, as the head up display then get a 12 volt popcorn maker, AND MAKE POPCORN !!!!! God i'm good. Problem solved P.S. my wife was looking over my shoulder while i was replying to this. and apparently it's not going to work in our Galaxy. mmmmm
  7. Ya i gotta say this was a really helpful thread. One tip i'd like to throw in. When i was removing the old drop down link, it did not have a flat part (more like a dics) in which to put a spanner, as you have to stop the center from turning while opening the nut. So if yours is the same, make sure you have a good vice grips or something like it. But the new one i put back on did have a slot for a 18mm open ended spanner. (spuris part)
