  1. Hi, I know it's a long shot, but just wondered if you still had the coil packs?
  2. Right..... Changed the master cylinder, after a few choice words :angry2: But got it done nonetheless, bled everything... pedal went to the floor. Not impressed... decided to bleed more. This helped, lots of air from the rears, nothing from the fronts, but gave me a bit of braking back. Then yesterday decided that there still must be air somewhere so... yep.... more bleeding. No more air, moved the car forward just a few feet and jabbed the brakes; they responded quickly, (plenty of pedal travel though which not too happy about) so tried just forward and back a few times and then the dredded STOP BRAKE FAULT, SERVICE MANUAL warning came on  (which is bloody useless, why doesn't the warning just say TAKE ME TO YOUR DEALER! That's all the book says!) I am now totally baffled Could it be something to do with the ABS? If so how can I test it? Would hooking it up to the Computer tell me anything? I am getting exceedingly frustrated now, HELP!!!
  3. Hi all, been a while since I've been here last (no problems to chat about lol). Anyway, it was coming up to my Gal's MOT and I knew it'd fail on the brakes, so rather than paying the extortionate prices everyone around leicester seemed to offer I decided to do it myself. Sourced the disc and pads all round for the measly sum off

  5. Cheers guys plenty of stuff for me to check out, now that I've got some time. I'll let you know how I get on.
  6. Cheers guys, I've ssen the converters in maplins and they're an inexpensive add on so will certainly invest in one. I'll keep ya posted Chris. Thanks for the info on the Vert Sync and video wires, I'll check it out and see what I can find. Cheers for the quick response guys, time to have a play
  7. Hi Guys, hoiping someone may be able to shed some light on this subject for me. I have the Visteon VHS system fitted my gal (why they put a vhs rather than dvd system in is beyond me but...anyway :( ), yet the power to it refuses to stay on. There were no instructions with the system so have tried many different ways to get it to work, but with no avail. I've tried turning the power on with the remote - the screens flicker for 1 sec then go off again, I've tried holding the power button on the Video unit - Nothing, I tried doing both together and screens will continue to flicker until I let go of the power button and the the power will go off again  . It's so frustrating. But if it's going to be pricey then I'd rather upgrade to a better system, I'd love to get a PS2 fitted in to where the video player sits in the rear storage compartment, then I can play dvd's and games. Is there anyone who can give me some advice on getting the current system going and/or possibly getting a playstation fitted. Cheers Rusty
  8. Hi everyone, I've finally, (after much saving) got my 51plate Gal. She's the 2.3 Ghia and is amazing to drive, I love it, it's like driving an armchair :( Mind you, getting it at a cheaper price has it's flaws B) The DVD system (sorry.. ancient VHS system) doesn't work, the power stays on but that's about it... problem 1! And that's just the start, I managed to sorted the Cruise Control out though, with thanks to you guys  Anyway I just wanted to pop by and say hi and can't wait to get started on some of the upgrades for the little gal. Cheers, Rusty
  9. Hi Guys, I'm now the proud owner of my new 51 plate Mk2 2.3 Galaxy Ghia, fantasic motor. But I have a few problems I need to sort, the 1st was the cruise control, which was an easy fix, as previously mentioned, behind the passenger's side headlight is the servo for the cruise control, and sure enough, there was (barely) the disintergrating rubber hose. I simply dug around in the garage for some random hose, which I found a piece from a Rover 214 (a bit thicker and with a smaller diameter of hole, but good piece of pipe all the same) and after a bit of fiddling and heat the pipe in warm water it slid on a treat, and so can now enjoy the comforts of driving down the motorway without having to use the accelerator. The only problem I had was finding the screws, the two at the back of the light require a long driver to enable you to get to them, and they only require a couple of turns as the light will slide off without having to fully remove the screw. Also, worth remembering to plug the wiring loom back into the light before refitting as its a bit tight once the light is back in place I had the light in and out 5 times once I remebered to put everything back! lol. Anyway hope this can help anyone if needs be, plus cheers for the help in the first place guys! Rusty
