Hi - before you do anything else it could be the breather tube from the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation), this is located in an impossible location behind the exhaust manifold, but it is easy to check. Follow the pipe from the PCV to the idle control valve & disconect the rubber tube (just pulls off), now block the port on the idle control valve & test. What I am not sure is if it can be left dissconected????, but should be a means to verify fault. You will need a mirror & torch to see the PCV behind the exhaust manifold
