  1. Hi Jason. In my experience of ford dealers and my Galaxy, they know little at best about galaxies and are very expensive. I suggest you take it to the nearest reputable non-ford garage.
  2. Hi Just to let you know a steady result based on the following: I drive 80 miles a day to and from work 85% motorway I drive to Cornwall (500 mile round trip) at least 5 times a yr I drive to see family (120 mile round trip) at leat 6 times a yr I have a Galaxy 1.9tdi ghia 55 plate My tyres are 215 55 R16 97W I have now covered 60K at a steady rate of 20 k/yr The rears are original and are now down to 2mm The fronts have been replaced effectively every 20K The first fronts were obviously same as rear fitted from new. The second set was Hankook The third set was Kumho KU31 All have done same/similar miles before needing changeing All handle pretty much the same The next set is due and will be (unless convinced otherwise) Kumho KU31 all round - as they seem to have gained an extra 1k miles or so over the others they also wear extremely evenlywill be interesting to see how far they go as rear tyres. I find them no different than the originals and they cost between
  3. Hi Just thought I would share my experience with getting hold of a tow bar and fixing it to my 2005 1.9tdi Galaxy I went through the whole thing of fixed and detachable and their effect on parking sensors and in the end....it did not matter!! I firstly would like to say I cannot guarantee the same for everyone but for me it went a bit like this. Towequipe Westfalia detachable towbar.
  4. Thanks Emily's Dad for the advice I think it will come to this I am currently driving around an expensive engine with a repaired sump plug insert and no warranty through no fault of my own Ford customer 'care' ha ha!! have said if i pay 10% of the repair it is warrantied but if I dont its not. my prinicpal is that the dealer ruined the plug and thread so why should I pay anything. Guess what the reply was back from Leanne at customer care?? "I cant understand why you are moaning"??!! I think things have gone to a new level Thanks again Alan
  5. Hi Just to update the situation with my sump plug. Anyone else had this problem?? Recap: Galaxy in for service 3 months after previous service...same dealer I receive phone call that sump plug has strippd the threads on the sump It will cost ME
  6. Hi to everyone on the ford Galaxy owners forums. I am in need of help. I will try to write as brief an explaination as possible with the questions at the end so please bear with me!! I own a Ford Galaxy 1.9TD1 (130) Ghia registered as 55 plate. (VW Engine) It has been fully Ford serviced from New I have gone from 23K in Sept 2007 to 40K miles in April this yr due to commuting 80 miles/day to and from work. As a result the service intervals are obviously closer (every 2-3 months). the 40K service did not go as planned. 1. I was told a new cambelt was needed at
