hope i dont have to come to that removing the dash after looking at engine turbo,s way way back behing the block gonna be hard for me to do it i only novice but how hard can it be is there any threads on this subject

how difficult a job is it to check out the turbo, is it something that can be done easily on the driveway or is it a specialist job only ?

was this a case of seals going and engine oil being burnt as fuel i not sure my turbo still working but smoking still you think gasket seal on the inlet manafold might be leting oil into turbo

thankyou both for all your help just been with mechanic he looked at car for me i need new turbo whitey blue smoke and then today it took off by its self and wouldent turn of leaving it in now to get new turbo fitted gonna cost a arm and leg i guess thanks again

starting to think its more serious now after looking at my 1998 gal for the aux heater i dont seam to have one now all i get is a lovely bluey white smoke all the time thats not clearing up checked the water again and alls well checked the oil too its not milky, got a flashing light on but heater plug light is it seroius any sugestions please

hi all i aint no mechanic but i got a lot of white smoke trailing behind my ford galaxy dont think its normal. ok its a 1998 1.9 ford galaxy with 56k on the clock i just bought it i still have plenty of turbo power i have no engine knocking and oil in engine looks good (back colour) so i think the heads not gone my heating sits at the normal all the time i changed the diesel filter today as well thinking it was dirt but still the same not sure what the car was run on like red diesel are oil fuel dunno could it be dirt in the tank are water in tank, only happens when i bury the boot but after a while it clears its self im worried ive bought a dose of spuds please help me guyz

i just bought a ford galaxy to 1998 1.9 tdi 56k on clock i have lose of power too but tonight i just noticed a lot of bluey white smoke it cleared itself after a while i was driving. gets smokey when on the red line on the diesel gage not sure i done the diesel filter still the same,thanks
