  5. hi all just spent about two days reading the threads on the aux heater quite a few people talked about a gasket set for said heater containing seals, bolts and gaskets phoned fords and v w both said there was no such kit do i have to contact the makers of the heater for this kit or does anybody know the part number of this elusive kit or any part numbers for this unit many thanks in advance.
  6. hi all been filling up with bio diesel recently done about 900 miles and decided i had better change the fuel filter to get rid of all the nasty bits that have come off from the inside of my tank and fuel lines. All went well until i tried to start the old girl ,I got it running but could see the air in the system through the fuel pipe,I checked in the filter box to make sure i hadnt missed a seal but there was none to seeI did a search on here and discovered there should be an o ring on the valve with the r clip I can only think the old one must of dropped of when i lifted the valve up,I searched but I think it must of dropped into another dimension because it wasnt in this one so my question is should there be one with the filter or are they bought seperately if so does anybody know the part no I asked at my local fords they said they didnt stock them thanks.
  7. cheers for that big k having seen seatkids pictures i now know where i went wrong there was two broken clips on the outer suround of the clock so the whole lot came out instead of just the clock we learn by our mistakes thanks for the help mike.
  8. hi is there anybody out there that can put me straight on refitting my clock I took it out to replace the bulb a simple enough job but when i came to replace it there didnt seem to be anywhere to clip it into there is a piece on the rear of the clock the same shape as the rear of the clockbut it just slides up and down it dosent appear to be broken of anywhere but dosent seem to do anything either all i can see when i look in the hole is the roof linning so at the moment it just hanges there loosely looking all forlone any help would be good thanks in advance. mike
  9. You can obtain themain impellor and front face casting as a replacement part and then it is not nec to remove the belt I do belive tho it is an Audi part number as it was several years ago i did mine and I did not remove the belt just the covers. Best of luck thanks for reply neil is that the one with the plastic impellor as i dont fancy that one.
  10. on the older models you could get problems if the drive belt wasnt tight enough also if the front towing eye cover was missing allowing water to get onto the drive belt causing temp loss of power steering i would expect the same applies to the newer models hope that helps.
  11. hi all been a member for a while but this is my first post can anyone out there tell me if its possible to change the waterpump on a 1.9 diesel mk1 without disturbing the timing belt .Seems all on this site recomend changing timing belt and waterpump at the same time, are they both run on the same belt .if they are the answer is plain but i thought they were on different belts many thankshttp://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/style_images/bluegray/folder_post_icons/icon14.gif http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/style_im...cons/icon14.gif
