the computer on my 1.8TDCi is 25 - 30% out. ie reads 53mpg gives 38 mpg. Gonna get it checked by ford but 38 mpg at 85mpg (in germany of course) is not bad, and that was 2 full tanks sat at 85mpg on the autobahn, berlin to chichester

I have a MKIII and love it. my colleague has a MKIII and hates it. His wife has A MKII and he loves that. another colleague has a MKII and wishes he had my MKIII. i like my MKIII. some niggles, but i hammer the poor baby like hell everyday on the motorway, autoroute, autobahn etc.... Ford service is crap, but is VW / Seat better? the only car servicing I've had that was any good was subaru. I do 30k miles a year and at the end of the day, it is a 23K car, I'm happy enough and the seats are far better than taking them out everytime you need boot space. no one has complained yet. in fact had a full front and second row in there last year for a rugby tour an we all got on fine. bit squashed with an average weight of 18stone. PS my seat is fine after 40 odd K and me weighing in at a trim 21st

I have a 56 1.8 TDCI ghia. ok, it's not my mates CLK 3.5 v6. but it gets me and 500kg of metal (demo systems) from chichester to berlin and back, very often, no problems, pretty comfortable, 39MPG computer reads 53mpg for some reason. sat at 85MPH when the weekend comes, my wife and kids and my parents all fit in with the 2 kids bikes in the boot and all is well. better than my old laguna, bigger than a mondeo, not much slower. solid as a rock.

hi, my 56 reg galaxy is giving erroneous readings from the comuter. sat at 85MPG (in germany) for 2 full tanks I got the following computer 52.6 actual 38.9 computer 53.5 actual 39.9 worked out from full tank to full tank. anyone else know what they are getting ?

yes i have the same. I do carry heavy loads, but ford have said about this. on the galaxy, i think it was due to heavy loads. do you tow nose heavy or fill the boot and not your van. my father used to do that. unfortunatley, i am on contract hire with tyres included, so no change for me. have done 42k now and the original tyres are still ok, but bloody noisey

I have a 56 reg ghia with 42K on the clock, i too smelt these smells, but they went away after a few kmiles. i also had the juddering at low rev's i put this down to not enough torque for the sheer wieght of the car. doesn't happen if you keep rev's above 2 krpm

i have a 56 ghia on 16's my two front tyres were 200 each frm kwikfit. that said, a guy who i work with has an identical galaxy and he cant tyres for love nor money, Kwik fit told him the police are taking all deliveries for their own use !?!
