Our Galaxy has started locking the doors by itself. For example, doors are unlocked by remote, put kids in the back, close door and central locking locks all doors! Can the remote have been accidently reprogrammed to do this? This problem has suddenly came on recently.
I have the 'white smoke' scenario on our Galaxy tdi (2001). Having read this thread I'm still a little confused on the advice, could someone please say if the problem needs fixing (taken into a garage?). We have the jet engine noise so assume that glow plug is working? Can aux heater simply be disconnected to solve problem? Thanks.
Is there a way to program the central locking on a Galaxy to lock doors automatically when the vehicle starts moving? (as used to combat car-jacking). My Laguna has this function but my wife's Galaxy does not.
Yep, same problem here on my MK2 2001 tdi 115. Goes up and down when bumped by potholes etc. Faulty sender or loose cable? Any suggestions appreciated. Also any pics of where the sensor is.
As a new Galaxy owner (MK2 2001 diesel Zetec), I've noticed a lot of references to VAG COM in the forums. I guess it's some kind of diagnostics software but can someone explain it in anymore detail? Do you need it? Where do you get it? How much is it etc? Thanks.
I have the same problem as the chip was missing from my remote key when bought. Does anyone know where you can get hold of these chips and what do they look like? Pics would be appreciated. Thanks.
No, only have the one key which disarms immobiliser. I have 2 other additional standard keys which just open the doors. I believe they have transponders in them, but key casing is moulded plastic and not accessible.
I'm looking to get a transponder chip for my remote key as it was missing from inside the remote key when I bought the car (2001 51 Galaxy). Is it possible to buy just the chip or do you have to buy the whole key, then get it cut and programmed as Ford have said (
