  1. update; the garage couldnt fix it and have referred me to the Ford garage. Any ideas anyone????
  2. Hi I had a wooshing noise like air being blown i guess when accelerating, but not immediately, probably when the turbo kicks in. This was initially under the front passenger floor. I took it in and had the exhaust replaced, it was badly corroded, however the wooshing noise remains but has moved to the front driver floor side. Chances are the blown exhaust made it sound as if the noise was in its original position. Has any one any ideas? I have gone back to the garage and the suggest it may be a turbo pipe, they are going to to a diagnostic check. thanks Jim
  3. it was the plastic connection in the rear door. it had split down it's length. plastic glue was useless [of course] fixed it with silicon tape from B&Q [very good stuff]. used the instructions from the forum to take of the front to the door to allow access to the wiper mechanism. everything worked ok until it came to putting it back on. that is when the trouble started, me and the wife struggling to put it on. managed it in the end except i could not get all of the 4 clips back in [the ones that run horizontally under the bottom of the rear window. i could only manage 2, the ones nearest the door pillar on either side. very fustrating experience. is there a way of securing these clips? I can't imagine it takes very long to do it on the production line !?!
  4. ...and now the rear washer jet has stopped working [though the motor is making a noise]... i knew i should have bought the Previa.
  5. ......that was Sunday. Didn't use the car Monday, today the wipers worked in the morning first thing, shortly after the fuse has gone again. Not sure what is going on, it has been quite cold here in Bham for last 4 days or so, -6C last couple of nights, is this a factor? Will change the fuse again and see what happens. Anyone have any ideas? thanks
  6. I had exactly the same problem this morning. Did exactly the same things, checked the fuses with the handbook, but no solution. Resigned myself to taking the car into the garage and all the hassle that goes with that. Thought I would do a quick search and am so grateful that I did! Changed the red fuse and problem solved, total cost
  7. I recently bought a 54 plate 130bhp tdi having done 30 000 miles from Matlock Ford. The problem that I have is that when driving the steering wheel does not line up properly, it lines up slightly to the left at about 11 o'clock. This is annoying as i feel that i am always having to correct the s-wheel. When I picked up the car i test drove it and the car did pull significantly to the left, but the garage looked at this and initially i thought it was resolved. When i drive now there is a pull to the left but this is more pronounced when i brake or travel at low speed and come to a halt. The car is due to go back to the garage to resolve an unrelated issue but i want this to be looked at as well. Any ideas on what may be wrong so I can mention this to the garage? Can the s-wheel be easily re-alligned? Help/thoughts welcomed. thanks
  8. Hi, Have today picked up my 2004 Zetec Galaxy and am quite happy with it except that the the lines on the rear window do not work. I have had a closer look and it appears that at some point a previous owner put large stick on letters on the back, when these were removed the lines were damaged so that there was a break in the electrical contact [i guess]. Can anyone advise me what to do? Can the lines be repaired or does the rear screen need to be replaced? Any help much appreciated, thanks.
