Guys, Following my Gearbox problem posting. Thank you for your comments. Some of the info was enlightening and useful. In trying to find out why my gearbox failed at 50,000 miles (no hard use, no towing caravan, trailer, boat etc. no racing)... I was trying to find out what work was done under the Flywheel recall. The VOSA website indicates that the remedial work entailed replacement of the flywheel. My car went into the Ford dealer at least twice. The first time they took a look and confirmed that my car was affected and that the recall work needed to be carried out. However, I learnt today that the flywheel was not replaced. Just the clutch plate. Something clearly went drastically wrong with the transmission but the more I investigate the more confusing it gets. Any comments please? Regards, Nudger H.
