I noticed last week that Alliance and Leicester shares had dropped 35% , I thought if I had an investor mentality I would have invested my modest savings immediately in their shares - and what a quick profit I would have made too! Oh dear! Missed the boat again! If only my auntie had had b***s she'd have been my uncle

oops!! I think I've answered me own question

how do you do it? Do you type and then paste the text heading without the spaces or is there another way? Why do I want to know this? Because one day I might have an interesting link to post

thanks once again :43: -
what I need to know is the correct terminology for the black spoiler thingy that sits under the front panel (that's probably the wrong terminology too!), as I need to get one, cheers. Steve

simple question; how do you do it? I've tried all ways, even trying to copy and paste from my Photobucket account, I need to know how to downsize a photo from either 'My Pictures', my camera software, or from Photobucket, or whatever!! Please make any answers simple (like the poster) :angry2:

Rear Screen Brake Light
stevic replied to stevic's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
well done sparky Paul!! Absolutely spot on diagnosis, seven other cables had damaged insulation and the feed and earth for the screen brake light were snapped off. I hate to think of the consequences of leaving it unchecked; at best a blown fuse or two, at worst a fair chance of a fire. -
Rear Screen Brake Light

Thanks Paul, I'll do that in the morning. -
I just thought I would give younger members of the forum an insight to how the housing market has spiralled to such a ridiculous level over the last few decades. And this is why there is so much pressure on social housing. In 1970 I was an approved electrician earning

The rear screen brake light on my Mk 1 is not working, the bulbs are ok, there is no juice to the black/red wire when the pedal is depressed. Can someone please tell me where the black/red wire picks up from, thanks, Steve

Hey, thanks everyone, you are all so good. I shan't use the DL/DW standard to measure as the badges will be far too close to the edges; that's old age for you :P
-
Didn't mean to shout ;) But the badges are for collection in the morning, once I've parted with forty five quid (gulp!!)

So you have 2 VWs then! What's the 17K one? Bora 130 SE tdi that I bought new 3 years ago. MEASURE THE B****Y BADGES!!!

At last, I've put enough mundane answers and opinions into the forum ask a technical question ;) I have ordered 2 x GhiaX badges for front wings, 1 x 2.3 badge and a Galaxy badge for the tailgate. Would someone with the correct placement measurements please let me know what they are. This will be a lot easier than answering the million questions I will have in the future regarding digital photography in the pc section. Here's another question: why do I love my secondhand, two and a half grand Galaxy better than the VW I paid 17K for?

;)--> QUOTE(Paul B @ Aug 16 2007, 18:07:09) 113756[/snapback]What idiot came up with the idea of restricting HGV's to 40MPH on single track roads, when the rest of us, usually travelling behind for miles are allowed to do 60?? Here in Norfolk, most of the damn roads are single track anyway! I know this frustrates Lorry drivers just as much too!C Common sense? Do me a favour! You are so right. I drive a 44 tonne truck and the restriction to 40mph on single carriageway roads is only sensible when those roads are narrow and windy and then 40mph is probably too fast. But on straight single carrageways car drivers get increasingly frustrated and make suicidal manouvres to overtake, Im thinking of the A46 between Tewksbury and Warwick here. At 50mph the vast majority of car drivers will quite happily (well maybe not that happily) sit on the tail and the road is a safer place for it. But one anomoly follows another when speed limits are set. 60mph is deemed ok on single a carraigeways for cars, but as soon as a cone is put anywhere a hard shoulder on a motorway the speed limit is reduced to 50mph - think M4 Reading. Anyway us poor truckers are not out there to specifically annoy the car drivers of this world, we're out there to deliver the goods for the I-want-it-yesterday consumer. Another question about the awful standards of car driver lane awareness. Why do so many car drivers drive at 30-40mph in the middle lane of the A40 aproaching London from the M40? As I haven't got enough posts to ask questions in the technical forum, would someone please go to the newbies forum and answer my question specifically on badge measurements, I don't want to measure a random Galaxy 'cos the set up might not be exact. Cheers, Steve

Hi, I've just come in from a nightshift and I am hoping to wake up to wonderful technical advice regarding badges. The Mk 1 Ghia X I have just bought requires new badges, I have ordered a Galaxy and 2.3 tailgate badges, also two front wing Ghia X badges, obviously the ones being supplied by my local Ford dealer must be gold plated as they cost a small fortune :) . Could some kind person please give me accurate measurement to fit the said four badges in the correct place. I guess they are the self adhesive kind and you only get the one shot at it.

Hi all, I've just changed the second car from an old 4x4 to a Mk1 Galaxy 2.3Ghia X. Already I'm impresseed, what a great general all round vehicle, wonderful driving position too. I bought it for aound two and a half grand with 4 new tyres and a years ticket and it's unmarked interior is a bonus. I've joined the owners club not only to source the best info for the Galaxy, but also to find out general info for anything (usually pc stuff), these forums always have such clever people on them! Regards, Steve
