1. Hi Thanks for the edit. i got some coco and settled down for a long read of this epic thread. And though i am wiser, i am no further clearer, what i think i'll do is take it down in the better months and check it out and i think that should make me understand whats what, and to make sense of whats been written. i'll post again wheni have more news. But it does still like a common topic of discussion, with lots of people having the same fault. I unfortunatly i have the air con not working to attend to first. Cars are not with out their faults and mine seems to come with a list. New turbo, New intermidiate drive shift etc etc, but i would'nt change the car. It is the best car that i have ever owned. It copes with everything that i throw at it, and with 4 kids thats alot <_<
2. hi guys ~ just to confuse everyone my last topic title was meant to aux heaters.Sorry. Any way i have posted before that i have a problem with my brake warning light is on constantly. I have now checked all the braking pads and their fine. is it possible that its now an electrical problem that needs to be reset or some thing. Thanks again.
3. Hi Guys- I have always read a lot of the posts first , and i get out a lot of info from these. I have a question thats about the aux heater. I have a 02 galaxy 1.9tdi 115 zetec and thought that i did not have one of these heaters. But after reading a post discovered to my joy that i do have one, but my question is ~ how do i know if my heater is working/or not, it's been so cold lately and it takes a good 25 minutes before any form of heat comes through into the cabin. so does that mean that the glow plug needs changing. Is there a test or some thing i can do ? have a good weekend <_<
4. Hi - my applogies to everyone , including gregers for the terrible font- it was an unfortunate accident and i promise not to do it again. Thanks for the replies - i'll be sure to check it out
5. Hi Guys - i have posted a few questions here before, and always had positive feedback. And so this brings me to my current fault. About in year ago i had the brake warning light come on, on inspection found that the n/s disc pad wire indicator had broken. As the pads were relatively new so i opted to leave them till i needed new pads, unfortunatly the mot recently found that the discs were worn and needed to be replaced. we replaced the discs and the pads - but the light on the dash board is still illuminated. Any thoughts would be greatly received. oh and i should tell you that i have a Galaxy 1.9tdi (115) Zetec 02 Many thanks
6. hi guys how are we all doing ? I wonder if anyone could help with a small question - what is the differance between a red tdi badge and a blue tdi badge ?
7. Hi Bleeno - Thanks for the reply - i was on the verge of, i dont know - no hope! My problem does seem to be a little different in the respect that my turbo will cut out when the engine is hot or cold-when i have done hour of motorway or 2 minutes up the road. I go to overtake, i accelerate and bham!! No turbo, but it's definatly seems to be a load problem, the extra load causing an eletrical component to switch the turbo off - if i immedatly switch the engine off and the fault is instantly cured. I have been told the EGR valve, the boost control solenoid / filter(as you kindy mentioned) and the turbo!! The noise is also another clue - a sort of shring as i change gear, again this will happen hot or cold, but goes away if costant driving - only to reappear if in a traffic jam. i hope if i carry on writing these posts, someone will have an answer for me. If i took my car to a vw dealer for instance- could they be more enlighting, would they have a VAG Com?and tell me the problem.
8. Hi - I,m not new to the site, probably 8months or so, but it's my first post ever- so i hope that i am doing this right. I have enjoyed the site, but still can not find the solution to my problem. i have a 2002 Galaxy tdi (115) zetec- when i drive the car under load ( i.e hard accelerating up a hill, reaching 3,500 rpm or overtaking on a motor way) the car looses what i feel is the turbo and what i am told goes into limp mode. If i stop the car, turn the ignition off and then back on again the car is back to normal. i took the car to several "diagnostic" garages and the fault code that they give me is " turbo over boosting" but can not tell me anymore!! I have changed the maef sensor and that has inproved the cars proformance, but nothing else. Recently i have heard a tinney noise from the engine - generaly when the engine is cold, and from the right hand side as i sit in the drivers seat. The noise seems to happen when am changing gear (2nd to 3rd ) or about 1800 rpm with a sort of juddering effect ( wonts to go but cant ), but above that rev range and it's fine. i have explained this to so many people, mechanics, technicians and looked extensively on the site and still no futher foward - please someone come to my aid, i cant be the only person with this fault.
