  1. Just want to mention a big thank you to Chromedome on the forum. I was missing a top box button for the dash on my Galaxy and Chromedome kindly dug out a broken top box he had (with button attached) and posted it over to me here in the ROI. Many thanks again Chromedome for volunteering and the taking the trouble and effort in doing so. This site is fantastic and long may it continue to be so, Regards, Spfeno
  2. Hi, just wondering if anyone knows how I can give feedback to one of the forum members who gave me a big dig out this week. CHROMEDOME went to the bother of searching for a glove compartment door for me and posted it to me here in the R.O.I. Any mods know how I can give him a 'gold star' for his trouble Spfeno
  3. Andydan27, I unfortunately have the same problem (2001 TDi Automatic Ghia Galaxy) - when it happens I throw it back into neutral and then re engage into R again and it works fine. I;ve read up on the various forums on it and can't seem to get any joy. Some with similar problems mention that it only happens when engine is cold Spfeno
  4. Dave-G, did you solve this problem as I have had it myself over the last while in my automatic Gal. When put into 'R' it appears to go into limp mode and doesn't engage. I put it into neutral again and then into 'R' and she then engages and all is OK.
  5. Many thanks for the replies guys - methinks I'll hold for a breakers yard or similar place - don't think I'll be forking out for a whole compartment door Spfeno
  6. I have searched but cannot find any of these buttons (see pic). The button from the middle compartment has broken off and I suspect has been hoovered up. Would anyone know where I could get them online ?
  7. Ok looks like these aren't the ones for me - does anyone know where I'd get them online instead of paying scandalous dealer prices ?
  8. Thanks for the prompt reply Smokie - wifey gone out for the night with motor so won't be able to check till morn' Spfeno
  9. I have a problem with a faulty parking sensor - searched all relevant forums and found the (non-ticking) faulty one. You really want to have a good ear to hear these things. My question - where to buy them at a reasonable price - searched ebay and came up with this link - these ones are $7 compared to Stg
  10. Had the very same problem myself CHENZO - just fixed it (many thanks to this fantastic site) last week - broken earth wire (Brown) in the loom. Used a small connector to fix it. Noticed that the other smaller wires in the same loom had started cracking too but not to the same extent
  11. Newbie here (Still in the Learner Pen searching for 2nd Gear) - Had similar problems with my Climate Control unit - ie. kept flasing for a few seconds when engine first started. When last serviced had mechanic regas the unit but still didn't work properly (this was last August 2008) - put it on the long finger up until last week. Enter second problem about a month ago - electrical faults in the rear section of the car (no reverse lights, fog light kept coming on in the dash display, no rear window wiper) - found the problem last week (FULL THANKS TO THIS SITE  ) and it was a broken earth in the loom running from the main body of the car to the boot lid (thru the black rubber corrogated boot). Reconnected this and all electrical problems dissappeared - NOW THE FUNNY PART - my air con is back working again - the unit is still flashing on ignition start up but cold air blows (and hot air too which was missing over the winter) - Can anyone offer an explanation or was the previous owner of my 2001 1.9TDi Pepper Red Ghia Galaxy from the Twilight Zone Spfeno
  12. 2001 Mk II Tdi Ghia - Former UK 'X' reg but now rehoused and reregistered in Co. Meath, IRELAND Hi All, signed up to the site about a year ago but still in the learner pen - MO4 many thanks for the recent email reply on what to do. I have a problem with a faulty parking sensor - searched all relevant forums and found the (non-ticking) faulty one. You really want to have a good ear to hear these things. My question - where to buy them at a reasonable price - searched ebay and came up with this link - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Ultras...sQ5fAccessories Does anyone know if this will work/fit - had my own sensor off for a while today (refitted it again) and from memory it looks as if its the right one Many thanks for the dig out, Spfeno PS - hope I've put this in the right forum/location - MO4 you can slap me over the wrist if its not
