Thanks for the info guys! I'm not a 'Forum' type of guy, but it's good to give a little by way of thanks, so I do promise that 'I'll be back' - perhaps I'll be able to give a little advice in return.

I've got a 2001 Galaxy Ghia 2.8i. The chrome trim round the top of the gear knob has recently started to flake - the bits are like glass - I've had a couple stuck into my palm - not good when driving! For the moment, I've removed the offending disc, but I'd like to remove the knob entirely, and fit one of my own. Ford won't sell the chromed 'picture disc', but want me to buy the full knob - no surprise eh? How do I get the gear knob off?? Any help or comments would be appreciated!
