  1. How do I remove the center dashboard glove/junk box on the MK2 Galaxy 2.3 on a 03 plate?
  2. Galaxy M2, 03 plate 2.3 Ghia 16v petrol Thanks for the replies. There are 2-3 smallish jobs I have to do on the Galaxy all are pretty much covered here on the site, although I have to say I didn't find any thing that stated that vacuum pump was bolted to the inner NS wing on a MK2, I spent ages crooking my neck looking into space occupied by NS lamp unit. I know the cruise control is/will work, ( I think ), 'cause when I operate it via the switch the cruise indicator comes on, so I guess that's a good sign. I fixed on the advise here on site that it was the tube/hose to the pump that needs trimming and re-fixing, it never occurred to me there is another place it might fail. How do I get/reach T/join if it's up in drivers well,---I mean do I just pull back carpet. If I need to replace parts( not vacuum ),is it a Ford purchase, can I get tubing/T-Join/hose from a motor factor? Apart from replacing the starter motor the other job is the rear washer wiper,---no wash reaching the screen. Apparently it is a common fault, something to do with the washer tubing by the inside NS sill. What I don't understand is there is no damp in the NS front well or under pasenger seat, is there something else I should check first before removing trim? ( washer bottle is full ).
  3. Thanks. Would you know if the procedure for the simple fix of triming the vacuum hose/tube and refixing is the same on the MK2 as for the MK1?
  4. Galaxy M2, 03 plate 2.3 Ghia 16v petrol Hi, Having searched this site and found out how to undertake what I hope is a simple repair, I went looking a little while ago for the cruise control vacuum pump. I know what it looks like, (I think ), but having removed the passenger side headlight unit, I couldn't find it. I have to get under the car in the next few days to replace a starter motor, once the undershield is removed, will I find the pump,( passenger side ), or am I looking in the wrong place?
  5. Thanks Cyborg, I spoke to a local motor factor shop and they sourced a new one for
  6. Can members make a donation to this site/club?
  7. An update, Not long after my above post I did what Spitfirmac suggested, just drilled a couple of holes with my trusty Dremel, with linkage in situ', in to spindle casing, drenched spindles with spray copper lube, worked instantly, wipers still going good. I would have posted so much earlier with a thank you post but could not get back into the forums,-----belated thanks.
  8. Galaxy M2, 03 plate 2.3 Ghia 16v petrol. Starter motor is on the way out but which one do I need. My 1st visit was a Ford shop, wanted
  9. Hi Spitfiremac and also to Vimer ( post 39) For those of us not greatly confident around vehicles but would like to be, would like to know more, do more. Any chance of an X marks the spot picture, I appreciate you both have done the job maybe a while ago but just a couple of pictures pointing to the spot where to drill would be so good. Would you know, is this quick fix viable on all models, diesels/petrol/all years?
  10. Been reading this thread with interest. I too now seem to have a most recent issue with the front wiper juddering across the screen/ stopping starting. My Galaxy is a Mk2 2.3i on a 2003 plate. I can't click on links at the moment but are there any links/pictures that show how the repair/fix should be done via this site for a Mk2? Do I need to dismantle the wiper mechanism or is there a quick fix I can try first?
  11. Thanks for all the replies.
  12. Having the same issue Kieron when I click on links, have reported it in the Computer and Internet section.
  13. Thought I would add to this. Discovered I had kind of same problem, no warm air when heater was on. Mine is a Mk2 Galaxy but with the analog heater display, used it yesterday for warm air, fans working ok, controls set correctly but blowing cold air instead of warm. Solution, topped up the expansion vessel, problem sorted.
  14. Thanks for all the replies and advise. Found the power steering reservoir,( by the battery, no cover but there was ???), quick trip to local Halfords has resolved the grinding noise for now. On the MOT advise note it states, " oil leak ", I phoned the MOT station later the same day and asked where they thought the leak might be, they didn't know, just said they found evidence of an oil leak?? When I topped up the reservoir there was so little in it, I am wondering if power steering rack has leak. I have had the Mk 2 Gal' since 2006, she is low milage, just under 55,000 miles and apart from rear pads, blades, new tyres all round and a minor accident over the years she has been great and flown through her MOTs with out costing any thing but the fee. She had a major service about 18 months ago but she has done little in milage since that time. About two year ago or so I changed all the tyres and had the front tracking done which was way out. Just before this years MOT I noticed the inside of both front tyres were realy worn while the rest of the tread was OK. I thought Gal' ain't going to pass an MOT like that, so had a never used Event tyre in the garage, ordered another from, "Camskill", took vehicle and tyres to shop, fitted and tracked,
