I found one :( TIS has been with me for a while now, but forgot about it. Anyway - from the experience - should I be getting something else while the car is stripped? I.e new hoses, sensors etc?

Hi I've had usual Gal's sypmtoms - loosing water with no signs of where the water was going. Suddenly one day the white smoke came up from the pipe and parked the car asap. I am now going to replace the head gasket. Is there anything I should think of while doing it? Any unusual stuff? The engine is half-stripped now, takes few hours to get it done properly :lol: I was browsing for any manual of "how to", but with no luck. Going to buy Haynes for help, but it will come within next few days. In the meantime I collected water pump, plunger, gasket set, sparkplugs, chain guide (top, but the side one is cracked so have to order one as well) and filters. Should I get anything else? cheers PS. Beside above, car has just had new CV joints + boot kits and track rod ends fitted... Parts that are waiting to be fitted: brakes all round (discs, pads, hoses), wishbones, drop bar links, eibach springs (will have to get some nice shocks)... Hope it's gonna ride as good as new. Or even better with the new suspension :lol:

THX MADBAZ I checked the fuses, it seems the 30 was empty and the fuse was next to it. So fitted to 30 and.. central locking works (but not on rear driver side door) and yes, the led came on for about 3 secs. But also passenger window came down and didn't work at all when I wanted to shut it. Passenger window doesn't work at all, no matter fuse on or off. The fuse now is removed, and passenger window operates normally. I disconnected the multiplug on window motor earlier for more then a minute, but this didn't fix the problem. If somebody knew how to power the motor straight with 12V I would check if it works at all. Is the module under the passenger seat? I checked it and there seems to be no signs of water at all. If I remove it - can the car be still driven? How much does it cost on Ebay? Thanks a lot for all help :rolleyes:

There was not a slightest move at all of the wires, when i tried to open/close the window. The central locking should lock/unlock all locks in the car even when I only use the key in the lock. It does not happen, that;s why I wonder if the C/L is fitted - is there one or two masters? If there are two - I should be able to open the locks using passenger one as well. There is something under passenger seat - and I think this is central locking box.

I unscrew the four screws keeping the whole mechanizm. The tension of the wires I think is allright, but when I lowered the mechanism and lowered the tension checked the motor. It buzzzes, but nothing happens. So I suppose the motor is dead. Central locking in my car doesn't work at all, that's why I wonder if I have it at all. And if yes - what could have broken. Unless both problems are connected somehow and motor doesn't work because there's something wrong with wiring in the central locking ;)

What clamps should I be looking for? Are they on the bottom of the window attached to the runner? I have no idea how to fix it, though there are some runners with motors on Ebay finishing today so wonder if I should buy it :) I have non remote key with the led-torch. On the side of the car there is a G badge, which would mean, I suppose GHIA version. I have air con, electric front windows and mirrors, electric sunroof, no fog lamps. The door card is off now, and I have no idea how to check manually whetherthe window works or not. There are wires coming to the inside of the lock mechanism: 3 to the top of it, quite a few to the bottom, there is also a red led on the top of the doorcard, so I think the central locking should be onboard. The other annoying thing is with the rear door - every time I have to open it with a key. Maybe this is also because of faulty central locking?

Hi I'm exploring my new - old Gal and after going through lot of posts... My driver's window do not open. I know it might be the wires broken, but... when I press the buttom I can hear the motor. It sound like it wanted to roll, but nothing happens. Wonder, if it means the motor is faulty and how to check it? There is a plug (rather large as for not so complicated thing as window motor) with lot of connectors, which one should I connect to +/- to check it? The mirrors and left passenger window works perfectly fine. Also... I do not know if I have/should have central locking. This might be broken as well or - I don't have one. How many masters is there in Gal - one or two? If it was only one - it might mean it is broken :)

Hi I am just about to upgrade my Gal's audio. I don't know what type of head unit I'm gonna buy yet, but until then I'am gonna fit: KOS A200 under passenger seat 10 CD MP3 changer somewhere at the back Nice speakers - they're already fitted in front doorcards, some more will come to the rear But to get it all nice and finished... how to find out if my Gal has amp? Is it good enough to power the speakers, or shoud i get a proper one? How to get to the bottom of the dash? How to remove the gloveboxes? I'm thinking of installing the new amp somewhere there... if not will have to fit it under the seat as well. Any help appreciated cheers

It doesn't neccesaryli have to come from other Galaxies... but I was wondering about dash, door cards and windows Upgrading my Pug 206 I was installing things from other 206, 307, but Citroen as well. Upgrading Fiat CInquecento my mate put lot of staff from cars as Lancia, Alfa, other Fiats... (it is now 1,6Turbo) It might be that steering wheel from VW passat will fit and somebody will prefer it. I just think having all unusual conversions in one place would help some others (like me :D )

Hi I am thinking of upgrading my Gal. I suppose many parts would fit from other cars (both Ford and VW group). Now the thing is, to get all replacements in one topic. I.e. somobody changed the steering wheel? Let us know which car it came from and was it plug&play or some work needed. How about doorcards? Will Mk2 fit Mk1? If not maybe dash or windows will? How about springs and brakes? Which ones can I use to get big-brake conversion? And so on I think such topic would ne useful, suppose would have to be at least 2 for Mk1 and Mk2. OK guys, 3rd for Mk3 as well :D Now tell me what you think

Hello girls! How u doing guys? I've just bought an old banger, how I call it - 1996 Galaxy 2,0 petrol manual, GLX I suppose. The car is to replace my 04 Pug 206 SW, which is definetly to small for my family of 3 ;) I just started upgrading audio yesterday - took it out the Pug. I live in Jersey, so won't be able to see you all at spots, but who knows, maybe - one day? Greetings 2 all Gierma
