  1. Thanks for the replies on this so far folks, Appreciate it. Yes - the fuel guage/warning light problem happened before this. But as the hiccups occured soon after the fuel light warning kept coming on, i'm thinking it might be related in some way (although of course it could be pure coincidence). The fuel has not actually been that low - it just kept thinking it was due to the duff guage reading. But even with the sender unit changed, the intermittent juffering down to zero power problem is still there. Guess I'll know more once the VAG-COM cable arrives.
  2. Hi folks, Been scouring this great little forum to find a similar problem to what my '02 1.9 TDi LX has with no real luck so far... Problem ======== After 10 minutes or so of driving from cold, intermittently starts to run with almost zero power - as if there's no fuel being burnt (or similar to how a poorly timed pertrol engine runs - 'bumble bee' type sound with no power on accelerating). Then it will usually end up completely losing power and cut out. After a bit of a 'rest' it then starts back up again to repeat the whole annoying process. - There is no sign of any problem at idle - stays smoothly ticking over at about 850rpm. And until the problem begins, it runs perfectly. - Everything else is running fine, recently serviced fine etc. - I unplugged the MAF - no change. - The only thing that I thought *may* be related is that the FUEL GUAGE started malfunctioning and constantly giving the 'Fuel Low' warning light - I've just had the fuel tank's sender unit changed, which fixed the guage. But the problem is still there. A VAG-COM cable's been ordered to check the fault codes, but just wondered in the meantime if there are any ideas on what might cause this type of problem? Limited hair growth as it is - hope you can help save the last few clumps! Thanks, AJ
