The only problem I had with mine which is why I cancelled it, Is because ALL service work HAS to be carried out by a V.A.T. registered firm. Now this is not a problem if you just pay to have your car serviced all the time, (at a dealers for example) but if like me you prefer to do the work yourself then the warranty is useless.

Tyre Pressures
Velcrohead replied to dipsomaniac's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Tyre pressures for these size tyres does seem a bit strange. My book has it written on the back by the dealer as 34f and 31r unloaded. But the higher pressures do make sense. It's ahrd to know what to inflate them to really but I might inflate to the higher pressures as looking at mine they seem maybe a little bit flat. -

No Problem. I have seen all sorts of pressures quoted in different places. I seem to remember looking on a garage forecourt once and Galaxy was not even listed. -

On the back page of my owners manual it states that the fronts should be 34psi and the rears 31 psi unloaded and loaded should be 37 psi front and 40 psi for the rear. -
You are correct, It's on rear most drivers side window.

Part No/ Other Sources?
Velcrohead replied to Steve S.'s topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
This is'nt aimed at starting an arguement but why does everyone object to scotchloks?. I have some that have been in place for years on various things and have never had a problem, and don't now, although I admit that crimping and heat shrinking 'looks' better, how often does one look in the cubby holes in the boot?. As I said, not meant to cause arguement, just want to know why people are against them. When you use the towbar plug you don't actually break into the loom as such, it's piggy backed from the main loom. -

I got my towbar from www.towequipe.co.uk i think it was, they were very helpful and did say that you can get the loom to plug in the towbar socket, but I think it's only available with a towbar. I just used the TIS and scotchloks in the end and have never had a problem. Apart from the indicator buzzer being too bloody loud. -
When mine was regassed the person doing it was looking for 7c at the vent, so sounds like you are fine.

I usually use molegrips, they keep the clip compressed for easy removal. That's asuming I'm thinking of the same clips.

Ebay Key Programmer !
Velcrohead replied to marinabrid's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Yes It involves having two keys, pre 1998, one HAS to be a red master key. (maybe some 1998's as well). Then you turn the ignition on and off a couple of times with each key and hey presto. That's not the exact way of doing it but search the forum and you will find out. It has been mentioned several times. -
AAAHHH!!!, Photo, I knew I was going to do something today. You are in the right area but mine was tucked away towards the front of the vehicle in that compartment, I think it may have even slipped under the boot lining. If you have one it will be there.

No Probs, As I said I had to look at the TIS disc for the wiring info because the company who supplied my towbar gave me the wrong info. Hopefully you got the right info, but it is obvious from the start if you dont.

That is the plug, It's buried and hidden quite well (it was on mine anyway). If I get a chance I will try and take a picture for you over the weekend.
-
You do not need the bypass relay on this connector, the wiring is already isolated.
-
This is as far as I know as well, I have a pre facelift and the connector is in the left hand side cover, the one you remove to change the rear light bulbs. It was tucked away right near the front of the compartment on the floor.
-
When I done my electrics I used scotchlocks (Which I have NEVER EVER had a problem with), I did get some wiring diagrams with my tow bar but had to look at the TIS disc in the end to find the correct loom colours, I wired to the seperate towbar electrics connector but I dont think its included on facelifted models.

Noisy Fan In Climate Control Module
Velcrohead replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I took mine out and pulled it apart, then took the fan out and oiled it, I never had a problem with it in the first place and do not now but thought I would do it anyway. -
I was just thinking about the 60mm gap needed, I'm pretty sure the drivers side does not have that much. Will have to check.

Its in my profile, A 1998 2.8 V6 Ghia-X, with H4 bulbs. Speaking of bulbs are they changeable in the event of failure. Cheque might be a pain to get hold of, any other payment methods just incase?.

Connector??? I just pulled the rubber pipe from the plastic one comming from the engine bay and put about 6 inches of reinforced rubber tubing back. If you have trouble with the tubing I can send you some.
