Yep, Follow what I said at the top and see how you go.

99% of the time this is the problem, Yes a split pipe. Likely to get very involved if it's anything else. I presume it is a petrol engin he has then? Well, MM, yes presumably, As that is all we can do due to lack of info. But as I said, IF its anything else it will be more involved, i.e. messing with drive by wire etc. So my answer still stands. What have you got, just out of interest danyoda1?.

Check the rubber hose behind the passenger side indicator that goes to the pump.

Air Conditioning - Constant Leak - Any Ideas?
Velcrohead replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Has a sniffer test been done on it? Dye is OK but if you cannot see the leaking area i.e. the evaporator then dye is useless. Depending where you are I have all the equipment to test. -
That cannot really be answered without having a proper look, although its unlikely.
-
It is really best to use OFN (oxygen free nitrogen) to leak test, the problem you get with checking with a vacuum is that the vacuum itself can pull any leaking joints together.
-
Andy, Are you in the air con trade?, If not I have a leak sniffer you can use, If you are not miles and miles away of course.
-
All of what you have quoted are common areas for fault on the air con on these. When you say you have added UV dye, have you actually checked with a UV lamp for leaks? Maybe an obvious question but its not clear from your question.

Drop Links - How Many Miles
Velcrohead replied to wjfe's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
My Gal has just hit 60k and sounds like they need changing. Which reminds me they are sitting on my floor ready for fitting. -
I have no doubts they are the most expensive as well. I would have thought any 205/55 16 would be OK, but they have to be reinforced. Depending what day of the week it is. Mine takes 215/55 16's and as long as the tyres are reinforced, the cheapest go on mine, I'm not a brand name person.

Mine stays on all the time I think..... In general, so does mine, it all depends on the conditions.

I dont know if this is in reply to my earlier post but, yes the compressor cycles on and off, But what mine was doing was starting and stopping straight away. Also the retrofit information they give is very dubious. It's not 'just' a case of changing the service valves but thats another story. I'm not trying to say the kits are rubbish, Like I said I used one myself, but overcharged it due to the less than accurate gauge on my kit, but then again, the gauge could be naffed. Just be careful. Add a little at a time.
-
The compressor would start up, then stop, start up then stop, as well as making some rather horrible noises. Luckily I knew what had happened and turned the CC to econ. I let some pressure out when I got back and all was well but it is still overcharged as it is not cooling as well as it should. My car is getting the full works at the weekend (wheather permitting).

I live in Royston, Hertfordshire. Its sort of the south east ;) ;)

Sounds like you tried the high side that you can see when you open the bonnet. You need to remove the drivers side indicator to get at the low side port. These kits are great, I have used them but the gauges are FAR from accurate. I over charged mine, I have got all the proper profesional eqiupment to do this now as I have got to like air con systems with all the problems and things that go with them.

A friend of mine had his front brakes done at frauds on his galaxy. They did nothing but squeal when he got it back and frauds also told him that nothing could be done. I did the front discs and pads on mine by myself as always and cleaned and copper greased where you should and in about 7000 miles not one problem. Were the pads grease on the edges and rear?.

Headligh Deflectors For France

Just come back from France on business and had no problems. We did take first aid kit, warning triangle, fire extinguisher and a bulb kit which are legal requirements. -
Diy Aircon Top-up
Velcrohead replied to Masked Marauder's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Yes, I used the tip of a ball point pen case. But you need to cut a slot into the top of the end too. And on a MK2 it is indeed the pipe on the left by the slam bar that you want. Do you by any chance have a clearer picture of this mod MM? I cannot use mine and love to be able to. -
Agree with the rest, I got mine from these people and the service even after the sale is excellent.
