Guest lesmon Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 OK - Done - Fixed - well at least temporarily. Followed the following 4 links found on this forum:Wiper Link 1Wiper Link 2wiper link 3wiper link 4 Did exactly as they described - Took the arm and the ball from the balljoint off, drilled and tapped the ball for an M4 screw/bolt (if it snaps I can go M6 next time), drilled the rubber/plastic receptacle for the ball so that the M4 bolt can pass through, then bolted it up with some grease and washers leaving just a tiny 'play' so that the ball can move in the receptacle. Replace the arm, bolted back up the drivers wiper and there you have it. Thanks to this site I have saved myself another packet. Quote
JONESERIC Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Many thanks LESMON, I carried this repair to the linkage, used M6 bolt with LOCTITE, worked perfectly. Eric Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Which bit do you need? let us know and I'll dig out the pucker VW part number, as it appears a lot of the rods are available seperately http://www.elcats.ru/imaudivw/VAG036DF.gif Quote
