Guest VR6! Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 fitted mine in my gal just use a bit of common ,and its a walk in the park good luck m8 Another helpful reply from jim! depending on whether or not your car has a sunroof? depends on easy a job it is! if you have a sunroof you need to make sure that any fixings/cables are away from any moving parts! there are several posts on how to fit roof mounts, hit the search engine or trawl through the ICE section? there are several pictures posted showing the best position to mount it and instructions on where to run the cables and how to cut slits and not make holes in the head lining! as slits are easier to hide when you sell the car or remove the screen! good luck and if you get stuck dont be afraid to ask for help! Porkstone Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 Hi can i just say thanks for all the information i managed to pool from all on this forum, i am now a proud onwer of a 1.9 tdi zetec 2001. now my question -:i have just purchased a new flip down monitor and dvd player http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...:MEWA:IT&ih=018what i would like to know is if anyone has fitted one of these and how easy it is. i have fitted the odd cd player but nothing this big  thanks in advancemike I fitted and 8.4 flip down with integral DVD to my 04' gal, I cut out a section of the headlining with a stanley knife and bonded a plywood base to the metal roof with a slow cure epoxy resin it has been installed for six months so I don't think it is going to fall off now. If you have a separate DVD and screen you will likely have to partially drop the headlining to rout the cables. I have not done this my self but others on this board say it is no big deal. The plywood base was made of an 8" square piece of 9mm ply with five 1" square plywood pads glued to it. I did this to allow for the curavture of the roof, you may be able to just bond a flat piece of ply to the roof. When I glued it to the roof I wedged it in place using a broom handle and left if for 24hours. I ran power from the drivers interior light set and put a switch in the circuit, I don't know if this is a good idea but it is what I did. Cheers, P Quote
